When you initially place the jam nut onto the stem with your fingers, you can spin the jam nut counterclockwise until you feel the starting thread on the jam nut fall into place on the stem. And when you start to spin the jam nut clockwise to tighten, it should spin freely until the top of the stem comes into contact with the nylon insert. Then tilt the valve so you’re looking from the side to ensure perpendicularity between the stem and jam nut. Finish by tightening with appropriate wrench.

It is meant to guard against over-pressurization acting as a safety device helping avoid personal injury or damage to sensitive equipment. Since the design is all metal the application is single-use and once ruptured it can not be reset it would need to be replaced. Once pressure is applied to the vacuum side of the disk membrane above the design rating, the membrane will pop out, relieving pressure as is shown in the demonstration on the video. The low-pressure discs will rupture if the chamber exceeds 5-7 psig, and the ASME discs will rupture if the chamber pressure exceeds 9-11.5 psig. What company are you contacting us from?
