Sry but i strongly disagree, like mike said he need to take yes as an answer. After the s4 Premier walt had a yes, he had jesse and could work in the Lab. Later gus didnt want to kill walt, he just said he is out and should stay away from the Lab. You can argue if its really walts pride that caused all of that or he just wanted gus dead cause hes a maniac. Either way, walt is the fault. And he had a massive ego, we know that cause of s5 and his last speech to skyler

Mike said it that way, because he is an ex-cop who believes in doing a job & following your boss's orders. Walt would disobey Gus if it was necessary for his self-preservation; Mike wouldn't. From Mike's point of view, if you put your self-interest above your employer's interest, you are acting out of ego. That's why he can't stand Walt.

Yeah, this video is 100% right!! To me, Walt's biggest mistake was telling Gus about Jesse's intention of poisoning the two dealers. If Walt had kept his mouth shut the two dealers would have been gone without problems.

I'm 1 min in and he totally killed Max because he was the chemist and without him Gus could not go out on his own and so he had to kill Max and keep Gus as he was the brains and the one who ran the states. Its not rocket science why Max was killed. Plus as "close" as he was to Gus, it knew it would make Gus scared and fall back in line. HENCE why Gus then decides to make his own lab under secret after he found and met up with Gale then to copy Walt, which only eventually led to working with him. Its plain as day.

You’re just siding with the main character because they’re the main character. Walter seeked out Gus under the premise that they were alike as careful businessmen and then rather than doing his job spends the entire working relationship undermining him. Agreeing to work with gale then not wanting to. Quitting and then coming back. Demanding to work with Jesse then helping him to kill one of Gus’s dealers and even after all that they still have a job albeit under stricter protocol. In any other illegal business Walter would’ve gotten himself killed multiple times. Walter’s biggest problem is he seems to think that a drug business should have an hr department or the professionalism of a corporate office. You can say that Gus was buying time to kill him or molding Jesse to try to get him to betray Walter but it’s pretty deserved for his behavior. And Mike understandably appreciates the machinery of Gus, that with Gus everything works the way it should.. it’s an ugly business because it’s an illegal one but as far as illegal businesses go it’s smooth and with Gus you are not at the mercy of a pedestrian on an ego trip. And also we haven’t even mentioned that Walter is the reason his DEA brother in law started turning the heat up on Gus. Walter was cornered in the end and he did what he had to do but the majority of the decisions that got him to that point were of his own making and I’m tired of all the pretending like it wasn’t. (And if Mike had taken Walt on his idiotic offer the cartel would’ve killed all of them without Gus around)

Hummm🤔.... there is always so much to think about with this show; and I've often wondered what Walt's point was, but I never took the time to think it through, but this makes sense.

Mike hates Walter because he knows he is the same desperate as him to provide for him family in any cost and Mike hates that because he prefer to be the only one and because he knows that walter is a risk to the whole operation of the business. Mike was able to put in balance of his criminal life and His family life but for walter was impossible to put a balance because ke knows that walter is going to make everything worst

I liked Walter in like the First episodes then started to hate his character , he only goes extreme when he feels it's about to end for "HIM" he's the worst and everything was good till Walter got well and realized now he can't leave without being killed by Gus. he had to go the pussy way and mess everything up.

Agreed. The way I see it is that Gus was a hugely careful, very risk averse character. He did not like Walt's egotistical instability and hated having to accept Jesse as well, who he saw as a massive risk. He was always going to kill them both as soon as he could without affecting business. As you say, he would accept slightly less pure meth in return for less risk.

I love this video! It amazes me how many people love Mike but absolutely despise Walt in this show They are far more similar than I think a lot of people realize. People always say they love that Mike put Walt in his place in this scene but I actually find it quite the opposite. Mike is just upset that Walt outsmarted him and is now projecting his frustrations onto Walt like a child because things didn’t turn out the way he wanted. Walt definitely had an ego and his own problems but again Mike had a lot of issues in his own right. Great video!
