The steam launch Uandi was built as a Folkestone beach boat by L Sands & Co. in 1914. Reputed to have been towed to Dunkirk in WW2 and used to ferry British troops from the beach to larger vessels offshore, returning under her own power (a Diesel engine was fitted in the 1930's). Restored by Daivid Strong with assistance from Pip Guest, John Fuge (in Fowey) and Jack Merrill in Cheshire.
