Looks like you chose a Ford over the Veloz. I’m looking at the moment as well and for me it is a choice between the Veloz and the Honda BR-V. My first car was a Ford and it was also the last time I bought American. My bad experience with Ford- about 35 years ago-although not necessarily reflecting reality today still has me too deeply scarred by all the issues I had to deal with. I have only purchased Toyotas and Hondas since then.

My experience with a Ford Territory is quite horrible. You see a lot of positive reviews of the Territory online which was one of the contributing factors why I bought one. However, since buying my own Territory Titanium just in March (ish) of this year, it’s been going back to the repair shop of Ford THREE TIMES now for the SAME manufacturing issue. Since purchasing, I’ve only ever driven it for maybe half the period while the other half was spent being repaired, waiting for parts, being evaluated by the Ford technical team, etc. As I write this, my unit is actually sitting in their garage being serviced 😔 it’s such a disappointment. And it’s so frustrating to keep on returning my brand new car for continuous corrections. I honestly don’t feel safe driving a Territory Titanium anymore. Please be careful to anyone wanting to buy. Recurring issues: EWS failure, external system failure. Sharing my experience. Take it with a grain of salt.

It is a good decision not to choose this car because it is grossly underpowered.

Toddlers grow up quickly. This shouldnt be an issue or concern buying this automobile. You just need someone to attend to your kid while you are driving OR put them in their car seats. You do not leave your toddler unattended alone at the back seat. Either you get a driver or get someone who will watch out for your kid at the back. I am still going for the territory. Their curiosity can be manage by an adult.

Actually the lock doors are meant to be that way, in case of emergency or fire you can just open the door and leave the car and not rely on an electric device, on the other hand children MUST always sit on the back and with children lock. And if they are below 10 years old they must sit on a proper children seat with ISOFIX and Top Tether. I agree that the car should have speed sensing door lock.

That is a standard safety feature of Ford so you can go out in case of emergency - same thing with Focus and Everest and likely other models. Children should be seating at the back, and there is a child lock on the rear seats.

with all the tech that it offers, it should have like the speed sensing door locks, locked from inside, out.

These are also my concerns as a parent. You are safe from the outside but you cannot be safe if while inside. If its for safety its confusing. Why not just put a lock for each other

Hi, are you a first time American car brand owner? If so, please do note that this is a common sight for American and European car brands. Lock systems are centralized and can be easily opened from the inside but not from the outside, for only one reason. Safety. If anything happens that threatens your safety, you can easily open the door from the inside and get out of the car. As for the kids safety, they were supposed to be placed on a child carrier that can be placed inside using the ISOFIX.
