    Is that a specific rule for second serve ? Bcs pro tend to do it not as hard as first serve? Or is it only bcs of "scared of double fault " mentality?

    • @thetennismenu
      @thetennismenu 11 дней назад

      @@Inthenameofjustice7 great questions. The serve speed will always be slower because the spin rate will be higher. The reason for increased racket head speed is to ensure we can add more spin revolutions on the ball making it dip into the court.

  • @avinpr

    I have started doing this as well...I had plenty of double faults initially, but started getting more control over time and they reduced.

    Hello

  • @AlonParis22
    @AlonParis22 27 дней назад

    Great simple comments BUT you didn’t keep going, play middle is great, but I guess you meant that we should wait for a short ball and only then attack aggressively? Also, if they want linear and lateral, we probably need to bring them to the net with a short ball in the middle of the court (slice or flat)? If they aren’t missing when you move them around they aren’t missing middle either. So you may want to follow up on how to finish the point, not just play the point in the next installment? Thanks for the sound advice! Waiting for part 2 on this

    • @thetennismenu
      @thetennismenu 19 дней назад

      Absolutely spot on!!! playing middle reduces the angles and makes the counter puncher have to hit targets from the centre of the court. Once a slower or shorter ball has been given to you then its important to spread the court when you are in offense, and take control.

    I agree you probably need to do lots of multi-tasking exercises because, 1. Coaches will tell you not be in "no mans land" but that's impossible to remember when you're overwhelmed with everything else occurring while playing. 2. the serve requires the tossing and readying of the hitting arm which is a complex motion involving both arms you have to master.

    Agree but Alcaraz has a pause and he has a pro level first serve and a nasty kicker😂 Btw, I don’t have a pause on my serve but noticed his and it works very effectively for him. Tennis requires high level of timing so if a pause enhances that, then stick to it.

    i see what you're getting at but isn't this just the basics of how to beat every player? move them, keep them on defense, and attack second serves? can't this be applied to literally everyone? nice concept but you'll have to go into deeper detail

    • @thetennismenu
      @thetennismenu Месяц назад

      @@jdolla8530 thanks for the message and questions. Not necessarily the same for everyone. For example, when coaching against Rafa our plan was to keep the game linear, take away angles and keep the ball centralized as much as possible. We had a plan to also play flatter and give him less time. It also depends on the kind of player you are, playing to your strengths and ensuring to keep the match on your terms. wow. I loved it when people returning right at the server. Easy next shot and you can dictate right away. Plus serve volley would be great. Just return crosscourt to take away angles or down the line is the serve is weak.
