The tango scene from the 1921 film The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, directed by Rex Ingram. The dancers are Rudolph Valentino and Beatrice Dominguez. Tragically, Dominguez died of a ruptured appendix in February, 1921 - - before the movie was released.

10/12/2023 the 60th anniversary of the passing of Jolanda Földes, who was the writer of Golden Earrings' novel, which is the basic work of the movie with Marlene Dietrich. Foldes was 62, lived in London since 1938. Her novel The Street of the Fishing Cat won in 1936 All-nations Prize Novel Competition of the Pinker Publishing Ltd (London). The title refers to the name of the narrowest street in Paris, Rue du Chat-qui-Pêche, where the story is set. The novel was translated to 15 languages.
Interesting-this is one of my favorites but is rarely shown even on TCM
I will have to read the novel, I loved the movie as a teen on the late- late show!
