December 2024 update
As we approach the beginning of a new year I have managed to record an update on the progress that has been made this year. I know that it is long overdue and hope that in 2025 I will have the opportunity to make more frequent recordings. It is only when I look back over the hundreds of photo's of progress over the past 12 months that I can appreciate just how much has been achieved. On the ground it has all seemed to progress so slowly. So far everything has been within budget - long may that continue. I am sure by now that if this project were to be featured on Grand Designs, Kevin McCloud would be shaking his head and wondering aloud if I had what it takes to bring it to a satisfactory...

Sadly, due to an outbreak of influenza, the team from St Luke's Church have been able to go into the local care home for a service of readings and carols. A couple of days ago we met in church and recorded this offering instead, in the hope that the residents will be able to hear and join in with us as we tell the Christmas story and sing familiar carols. This is not the best update I have done. For a start the wind was blasting away and the sun was so bright that you will see that I am squinting into the camera. Also the camera appeared to stop working when I took it off the tripod to do a walk around, so I did a short piece to cover. Still, I have been reminded by friends that they want to have an idea of progress, so I grabbed the opportunity...

At long last an update on progress here at Endon. I began digging for the foundations at the beginning of September, but when October arrived the horrendous weather slowed work to a crawl. 11 skips later the digging has ended and the building inspector has given me the OK to go ahead and get the concrete for the foundations poured.

Welcome to an update on progress with the work at Endon. This has reached an exciting stage - well exciting for me at least! After a lot of work we have now been given permission to start work on our extension. So before I began work on removing the roof and demolishing the garage walls it was time to bring all our friends up to date.

The Well Dressing Festival at the village of Endon is THE major event of the year for the community. The carpet fitters were due to fit the living room carpet on the 21st April so it was full on in the days before, getting the new coving and skirting boards painted, and the walls papered and painted.
