Yeah they can. The fastest I typically go with pulling people is around 5-6 mph - which is a scale 40-48 mph. I have run 10 mph (14 ft/sec) and that is uncomfortable - 10 mph is a scale 80 mph.

She was just acquired from the American Steam Railroad Preservation Association, Inc. by the Valley Railroad (Connecticut) in Essex, Connecticut.

What happened to 1352?
To my knowledge it's owned by The American Steam Railroad Association (who are the people working on the Reading 2100) and is currently waiting for a restoration. At the time they are more focused on the 2100 but once it's operating they hope to store it somewhere and restore it, I think they are trying to get it into operating condition but I honestly don't know at the time, also this engine was originally being stored in Illinois in 2008 and from what I heard had the ASR not acquired the locomotive it would have been scrapped where it sat.

@@brianfalzon6739 Most likely to the roundhouse where they have both the 2100 and GTW 4070. This will likely happen once the restoration of 2100 is done which is estimated to be finished by late 2022 or 2023. Of course though this is my guess so I can very well by wrong

Beautiful locomotives! But aren’t those SD9043MAC’s? I know the 9043’s has the V16 710, and the SD90MAC-H, has the 265H.
The SD9043MAC's were the only successors out of them that eventually ended up being purchased by Norfolk Southern and Canadian Pacific,from Union Pacific to get rebuilt into SD70ACU's. Although,some shortlines and even CEFX have acquired them for further service. The SD90MAC's with the 265H's or 1010J were a rushed and short lived failure. Once GE debuted their AC6000CW's,EMD was in such a rush to develop the SD90MAC's that they were not engineered nor designed well and suffered numerous mechanical malfunctions,because they were trying to stay on tier with competition. Later on they would get 710's,they were still trying to aim for the 6,000 HP rating but then were derated soon enough down at 4,300 HP and were designated as SD9043MAC's to increase reliability and longevity.Union Pacific officially retired them so now that's why more SD70ACU's will be more common under NS & CP. In the end,both the AC6000CW's and SD90MAC's were not successful all due to errors involving the high end horsepower.That's why most of the AC6000CW's were rebuilt and detuned into AC4400CW's,at least with Union Pacific,and the SD9043MAC's are just getting thunder cabs,they were not extensively retrofitted like the Gevos were. However,EMD did end up being winner with 6,000 HP only because of the SD80MAC's which rarely had any issues what so ever.Even though sadly,those are being used as parts donors with CP for the SD9043MAC's/SD70ACU's.They have purchased almost the entire roster that Norfolk Southern had from Conrail. Going back to the 1010J,Caterpillar has greatly improved them since their acquisition with EMD and production of the SD70ACE-T4's.
