      @thejapanstagram 7 дней назад

      yes it’s fine to wear shorts! the only thing is, you’ll see most japanese people don’t due to personal preference and sun protection but you can do as you like! ☺️

    Question! I m coming to japan in abt 10 days ans will stay for abt 3 weeks. Will i be told off or criticised by people if i have tops that are a bit showy like the ones that are cut straight across the chest ? Thank you in anticipation!

    • @thejapanstagram
      @thejapanstagram 28 дней назад

      no you won’t be told off but just be aware that japanese people tend to cover up top half (usually for sun protection reasons) so if you’re fine with standing out a bit, go for it

    We have a version of the sore throat spray in the UK. It’s called “Ultra Chloraseptic Anaesthetic Throat Spray” comes in two flavours, Cherry or Menthol. There’s also “Difflam Spray” which is the same but a different brand. Both work well and do actually numb your mouth/throat! There’s most likely others too, but I can say I’ve used both of those, and both work well. I get chronic Tonsillitis frequently, so they are a life saver!

    • @angelicpuppy
      @angelicpuppy Месяц назад

      I’m askin this purely outta curiosity- have you gotten your tonsils removed? Or is there a reason you can’t?

    • @thejapanstagram
      @thejapanstagram Месяц назад

      so useful thank you!

    • @MochiTheAxolotl69
      @MochiTheAxolotl69 Месяц назад

      @@angelicpuppy I haven’t! Main reason was because I had tonsillitis a lot as a kid when in school and mixing with a lot of germs, but they didn’t want to do it yet. Then for a variety of reasons including near constant illness due to a weaker immune system I was taken out of school and was home schooled/home educated, then with less germs I improved a bit and so they decided not to. As a teen I went to college and went back into the cycle. I’m 24 now and they don’t want to remove them, plus I now have some other issues that will make it harder. Severe curvature of the spine, affecting my neck. Abnormally small mouth (also large tonsils which add an extra layer of problems!) with a very high arched palette. I have a mild tongue tie that was ignored/not noticed until much older too. My tonsils aren’t viable just looking into my mouth, they are positioned a bit lower and behind my tongue, so surgery would be much more difficult and possibly risky, so I’m stuck!

    One thing that really helped with my pronunciation was when a native Japanese pointed out that English speakers (both US and UK) really tend to masticate our words like we have a big wad of cud in our mouths. He suggested trying to hold my lips in a soft round opening and not moving my jaw or lips if possible - just letting my tongue do all the work. It made a huge difference.

      not confusing in japanese. and in uk, there’s just no way to know how the other person is going to do it as there’s not a standard way

  • @tovekauppi1616
    @tovekauppi1616 Месяц назад

    We have the same issue in Swedish. We say “rock, scissor, bag” (like a plastic bag). But our word for “bag” has two syllables so a common variant is to reveal on the fourth. I agree that the Japanese version is much better as there is no room for confusion.

    We had this test in actor school. One person goes to street below and rest look from the window. First person need to walk busy street with bad posture and thingking yourself as small. They will get pumped up and have dificulty to find way. Then they did same with good posture and aim where they wanted to go. It was like red sea parting in bible. People just naturally avoided person with the clear goal.

    It’s fine to walk and eat in Japan though. It’s not “frowned upon” they only eat at like combini etc because the bins etc are there (if going around Tokyo and other areas due to the cult and attack) no bins are found. I’ve seen people walking and eating etc.
