Thank you Darla first time here, I have subscribed. I am 69 yrs old and I paint letters on rocks, I have customers that request I paint their names or name of their pets or their addresses on rocks but my writing is not the best, this will help me tremendously to improve thank you again

Can you think of a "Rule of thumb" for the brush and the size used for each size letter. For instance, what brushes would you consider best for the 4" letter, both the quill and flat for each of the 3" and 2".

Everything explained, and it makes sense. No put-on comedy or nonsensical jabber.

Darla, You don't have to worry about being a perfect sign painter in order to teach. Just like a coach doesn't need to be a super star player. Your knowledge and ability to explain are top knotch. You are a great sign painter, but more than that, you have a lifetime of experience. That's something very, very few can say they have. And the fact that you're willing to pass some of that along is just amazing.

Imagine going back in time and telling people a day will come when you can take classes from a true master of a craft through a tiny box you carry in your pocket. I feel very lucky. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I've just got some brushes 'Finally' - Glad I came back to look again... I missed the STAR tip. The brushes I bought for practice are too big - Darla, which size would be a good starter brush size for a starter ? Hope you are well.

Thanks so much for all these lessons Miss Darla. I grew up around sign painting as my cousin did all of my uncles stock cars and her dad's work trucks - so I knew it wasn't as simple as just slapping some paint on. Now my dad wants his GTO lettered and I'm so glad to have found you. Hope you are well and might find the time, energy, and inclination to make some more videos. Also, I'm a not so young lady 😁and my cousin was too.

So thankyou Darla --please show us how you penciled each letter accurately in pencil by hand ----did you measure each letter before painting it --ie the underlying structure ?--surely you did not simply paint the letter directly onto the surface ?? beginners will find this totally IMPOSSIBLE !!!

In Jamaica we have to make do with what we find .
