#6: My first home-made radio receiver
For a long time I have wanted to get into scratch building amateur radio transceivers. Now I have begun the journey by combing some off the shelf modules to make my own radio receiver.

#5: MINIPA70 Test with Thermal Runaway (Unnarrated)
Просмотров 11021 день назад
I tested the MINIPA70 kit with a 13.2 V power supply, 0.2 W of input signal and 13.5 W of output signal. The temperature rises continuously to about 70 °C when I stopped. The current draw reached about 4.3 A. The increasing current at a fixed gate bias is a sign of thermal runaway. The increased temperature lowers the gate threshold voltage, thus increasing the current flow through the drain, w...

Excited to hear the signal coming from SAQ Grimeton, I recorded a short video of what it was like.
#3: Day before SAQ Grimeton 100th aniversary - audio setup and morse decoding

Tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the SAQ Grimeton transmitter. I give an overview of my setup where I can listen to the received signal, record it, and also decode it on the Morserino.
#2: Demo of the SAQ Grimeton Receiver Kit
Просмотров 5712 месяца назад
A quick intro to the Grimeton transmitter, and then a demo of the working receiver kit. A sound file is played on the laptop to emit a radio signal by the magnetic field from the laptop speaker. The kit can be bought from the Grimeton museum gift shop. I don't think it's sold online. The kit uses parts that are fairly easy to obtain, so it's possible to source the parts yourself and build it on...
#1: Resonance frequency of a VLF loop antenna
Просмотров 1343 месяца назад
I'm building a SAQ Grimeton VLF receiver kit. In this video I show how I found the resonance frequency of its loop antenna. The kit is avilable at the Grimeton museum gift shop.
This is SO cool! Really looking forward to the next part!
Where can you get this kit?
@@marlomontanaro3233 You can find it at the museum gift shop. I don't think you can buy it online. It's made of pretty common parts, so if you source them yourself, you could maybe build it yourself on a prototype board using the assembly manual: execubic.se/execubic-wp/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/SAQ-receiver-kit-manual-ver-3.pdf
Dove trovo il kit.
@@IZ0HQK You can find it at the museum gift shop. I don't think you can buy it online. Lo puoi trovare al negozio di souvenir del museo. Purtroppo non credo sia possibile acquistarlo on-line.

Hmm, could you tune that kid's toy too? 😉
@@LB4FH The Ikea MULA bead labyrinth? Great idea, Kjetil! A huge air-core inductor for sure. Now I kind of feel like trying to use it as a loop antenna. I have some variable capacitors lying around, so it's probably doable...
Nice set-up. Hope you got to hear SAQ today
@@LB4FH Thanks. I did! Stay tuned for a video about that...
Another nice video😊
Good work!
Congrats on your first video!
