Your definition of feminine and pretty seems very narrow. And it seems according to you girls aren't allowed to look strong and individual.

@@pushpurix I do love strong and individual girls. I simply think that it is sad that it seems they have to scare-of men in order not to be abused. If the result is that girls better look scary I think that fashion is becoming the opposite of what it used to be. I don’t like it but good for you if you get it.

@@ferryschoew7656 From what I know of the music and the nature of the woman these styles originate from, they look that way because it's great style that correlate directly to their lifestyle. It scares off men that does not understand it and are threatened by it. It attracts men who understand the aesthetics and th political statements it makes. The fact that you think "It is sad that it seems they have to scare-off men in order not to be abused" lacks any knowledge of what these girls (women pioneers of punk, such as The Slits, Raincoats, Nina Hagen,Siouxsie Sioux, etc etc)are about and a very condescending, sexist view because instead of seeing the strong identity in their styles, you are interpreting it as some kind of sacrifice to look aggressive and "not pretty" as a result of being a victim of abuse. On the contrary, these woman were spat on, stabbed, and violently attacked for dressing this way - your view is a classic case of mansplaining. Also, you sound like you just stumbled onto this video and don't have much knowledge of the CdG aesthetic and philosophy - because your views are the exact polar opposite. It's ok that it is not your thing - but please enlighten yourself by dulling some of that male gaze in order to gain a clearer perspective.
