718 GT4 Mods. Over Axle Pipes & Lightweight Flywheel. Sounds Amazing.#718gt4 #porsche . 4K
The sound of the 718 GT4 has always been poor compared to its younger brother, the 981 GT4, i wanted to change this. So i got in touch with Ninemister Porsche Specialist in Warrington and they fixed me up with some Over Axle Pipes, and a lightweight flywheel for increased acceleration, and they will soon will be fitting the Cargraphics valve controller to make the sound even better at low RPM. Huge improvement to the overall feel and drive of the car. This combination is highly recommended. Any comments or questions please drop them below. This video is not sponsored in any way. Thanks for watching. Enjoy.

    i not fully convinced of the logic. PPF will still stain with bird droppings and will still show the stone chips. So during the course of your ownership no benefit on asthetics. The benefit is when you peel off and reapply but generally this is prohibitively expensive. I think i’d ben doing just the sills and rear arches and respray when needed. Difficult choice

    • @antscars
      @antscars Год назад

      I dont mind seeing the odd stone chip as I know the paint is not effected underneath. The thing I like most about the XPEL PPF is how you never see any swirl marks on the car as the sun get rid of any slight scratches and marks in the PPF. The car always looks super glossy. Each to their own though. Thanks for the comment

I also selected all the leather / carbon fiber options and Burmester upgrade (great sound). The bucket seat just look amazing and will hold up better in the long term over comfort seats. The comfort seat really wear badly along the edge where one get in and out of the car - I do not like the appearance of creased and wrinkled leather. So far, no issue with comfort with the buckets. This video changed my mind regarding the carbon bucket seats 😅 When a pretty young and sporty guy tells me that even he would opt for the regular sport seats, I need to rethink my choice for my upcoming Boxter GTS 4.0. Despite they are looking so gorgeous, getting into them can be a pain. Talking about ground clearance: the GT4 is -30mm, the standard GTS -20mm with an option to only go -10mm. What would you choose if you would go for a GTS? In Switzerland, road bumps can be vicious, but from the looks I would prefer -20mm.

    • @antscars
      @antscars 2 года назад

      Hello and thanks for the comment and questions. In the boxster I would go for the comfort seats for sure. I think in the GT4 there is a perception that as its a more focussed track car, the buckets are best from a re-sale POV. And i maybe do agree with that. But yes yes the boxster i would 100% go comfort seats. I think with the std ride height of the GTS you would be fine @ -20mm. I just about get away with the GT4 ride height in the UK with speed humps, but not always, and it is annoying I have to watch which roads I go down from time to time. But you should be fine with the -20mm. That will be an awesome car. Good luck and enjoy.

      The ONLY reasons to get the buckets is for custom inserts and/or harnesses. They will HURT resale badly in the future. That being said, Andreas Preuninger says the most important option to tick is the sport buckets for the feedback through your rear end. The heated seats in the Spyder might add a month or two of driving season depending on where you live. If you're actually tracking your GT4 and going to use a harness you know what to do, otherwise you'll have SERIOUS regrets.

    looks like you should have bought a GTS4.0 ? how about fuel consumption with the 4 liter engine? enjoy

    • @antscars
      @antscars 2 года назад

      Yes maybe you are right, still enjoy the GT4 though. Feels pretty special. TBH I find the fuel consumption ok, motorway driving but not being too conservative I am getting just over 30mpg, and when i am pushing it hard on some nice roads (or hard for me) low 20's. But i still think it's ok to be fair. Had the 981 before this and i think it is pretty similar. 👍

    • @antscars
      @antscars 2 года назад

      @@cayman9815 I think it all depends on what your main goal with the car is. If you plan to take it on track most of the time then GT4 is the one to go with. And I believe they look slightly better with the slightly different body work/ shell construction. But the GTS 4.0 is a superb car! I drove the GTS 4.0 PDK just before getting the GT4 and it 95% of what you get in the GT4 but better comfort for the longer road trips. I just felt as I had the 981 GT4 I wanted to get into the 718 GT4 for a bit. You certainly wouldn't feel short changed in the GTS.

    Got a 981 cayman s last year and am hooked on Porsche. My next car will most likely be a cayman GTS 4.0. The only thing putting me off the 718 GT4 is the low ride height. I’ll be doing euro tips, U.K. road trips etc and so many struggle with grounding out the nose. If it had nose lift I’d buy the GT4. Enjoy.

      Hi and thanks for the comment, appreciate it. I tend to agree with you tbh. I love the GT4 but it can be a pain regards low ride height at the font end. 718 GTS 4.0 is a great car, you get 95% of the GT4 but in a more usable package. I may even consider swapping to one of those in the future. Thanks 👍
