PIUT85 - Paznaun Ischgl Ultratrail - An adventure on steep and high mountain trails
The new trailrunning event PIUT (Paznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail) took place the first time on July 13, 2024. Four challenges, where PIUT85 is the toughest one, called "pro" challenge. With close to 90 km and more than 5300m elevation it was really not easy.
The rain the days before made the trails quite difficult, muddy and slippery. But it was a fantastic experience. I was happy to finish in 17 hours 38 minutes as 20th man in the race.

In July 2024 I did my toughest running adventure up to now - the Patznaun Ischgl Ultra Trail PUIT85 - 90 km with 5500 meters elevation. Special thanks to Alex (@huntingpeaks_ultra) that he joined me during the last 35 km - was such a great support and nice talks!

Patznaun Ischgl Ultratrail am 13.07.2024 Grandiose Trails - aber eine sehr technische Strecke, durch die Regenfälle der letzten Tag nochmal erschwert. Die Uhr hat 92km und 6000HM angezeigt.

Truly Incredible running. So fast on such a tough course.
Nice video! I was only doing the 50 k and looking back I can hardly remember how hard it was and why I was so tired...But after seeing your video, including the muddy bit where I fell too, it's all chrystal clear again! It's so hard to explain when people ask how a 50 k could take me more than 11 hours!
You are completely right. I just reviewed the comments of the other runners of the PIUT85 - all of them experienced trail runners. Each of them was commenting, that this one was one of or the most difficult one due to the mud/water but also the very steep tracks. Especially the first section before Kappl was really technical. But on the other hand - this is part of the fun and we had more time to enjoy this wonderful landscape!

What type of shoes you use? Road or trail shoes?
I used trail shoes, but you can also run with (stable) road shoes. There is no downhill, so basically every shoe would work.

Yeah true, it was incredible! (and hot too;) But the clear sky also made a very nice panoramic view!!
