using this for my ceramics project for school
Bro ur a savior, I'm in class 9 and have an arts project and have absolutely zero idea on how to store my clay
Im having flashbacks to art class in grade school 40+ years ago :) Thankyou for the refresher. I have recently decided to try some pottery with one of my local clays(backyard). I have had really good luck firing them in my woodstove and decided to make a larger piece (12" round, taper and top, thingy) which takes time.. I let my lower bowl section dry completely...Im getting about 10% shrinkage. Which is causing potential issues! Is there a preferred method to re-hydrate and stabilize a dormant*(dry) project? Aside from a humidor and lots of time? :)
Do you cut this into pieces with a scissors and stick on a board? What is the best glue? What was your grout? I did a similar project with real pottery clay we cut the pieces while the clay was still wet and the pieces air dried were fired and a second fire with glaze then glued to a board, after drying filled with grout. Your project would be faster if I knew the final steps. What you cut with, what you glue with, what you paint with???

Hi I enjoyed video but I have a question, are we putting tile in bag to assist with the drying process? Because I thought that would actually do the opposite. I'm just getting into the hobby and would love some tips thanks!
This video was for my sculpture students. I need the tile to stay wet so they can finish cleaning it up later. However, if you want to go ahead and let yours dry, it's best if you allow it to slowly dry, rather than just leaving it out without anything on top. If you let it dry too quick (aka completely exposed to air), the edged will curl up because they will dry first and dry fast. My suggestion is to lay a plastic bag lightly on top of it so air can get to it, but still allow it to dry slowly. I hope this helps!

Can it be used for house floor?
No, this is air dry clay, which cannot be used for purposes such as flooring. You would need to use ceramic and make sure you find and use the best type of clay possible. I have never made tiles for the use of flooring, so I wouldn't be the best person to ask about what type of ceramic clay works best.
