please rejet your carbs, you’re gonna notice the backfiring, cold bloodedness, and off idle stumble real soon. i’ve had to work on too many shadows/vstars that had aftermarket exhausts with no jetting work done that ran subpar unless they were absolutely up to operating temp. i suggest getting whatever jet kit dynojet has as well as a bigger pilot jet, one or two sizes up from stock should suit you fine. wish you the best of luck with that bike

Not a big fan of the mirrors I have a rebel 250 and a ninja 500r and I went with the more square mirros more visibilty but on the other hand it kinda fits like a daredevil style like the comic book character. Really nice Red color also.Good job doing your own installs.

Once the engine is running, you can actually remove the battery. The engine should run on the power of the alternator alone. If it doesnt, that COULD be a sign of a bad alternator.

Those battery access for those vlx deluxes were dumb! My first bike was one with drag bars. Loved it but just didn’t have the umph. Upgraded to the vtx 1800. Much better for battery access

Exellent choice. I work at a motorcycle dealership and u would not believe the amount bofbnew riders that i deliver litre bikes to terrible idea. Even the ninja 600 s are feel are a bit much for a new rider withrhe ergonomics of sport bikes. U made a great decision. And its a honda. Will run forever. Welcome to the woy of motorcycling. Enjoy

ended up upgrading my battery to a good lipo brand, the thing will go to sleep if left for months and still has a good charge after sitting for ages, they cost a lot more but so far i'm not regretting the performance and starting boost plus capacity boost

Take the baffles out the exhaust they sound amazing after, my mum did it to her honda shadow which looks the same model it was a 600cc

I definitely like the older style Shadow. That bike has a ton of potential, and being that it is a well built engine, it will give yo ua lot of riding enjoyment without a ton of wrenching.

Is the underglow draining your battery, happened to me too when Installed it in my motorcycle , after I got rid of the underglow , I never had problems with the battery again

Lose the extended mirrors, Kuryakyn oval mirrors work well with this style of bike, maybe some power pipes would give it a nice note, a front fender chop never hurts. Otherwise, for a stock, it looks ok
