The main things I've loved about Starbound over the years are things like: It's base building Weather systems It's lighting It's OST Gear systems Variety of weapons It's colony system Mission/quest structure Ship customisation Race selection and differences FU mod is a godsend of fan content The fact the game has you going out to explore multiple star systems and planets gives me more reason to go out and explore. In Terraria you just get a finite map, and once you've explored the zones or unlocked hardmode, that's all you really get. Terraria is also one of those games that relies so damn heavily on it's users to stroll over to it's Wiki page, primarily because the devs have this weird belief that no one should know about anything within the game, but we'll gladly have our customers store important info on a Wiki website, and not actually hosting said info in-game. Within Starbound I'm made aware of what is what, where and when. Each time I scan a planet before entry, I am able to see what ores it contains. I can go to my crafting tables and the tables themselves tell me what item/weapon/armour needs what materials, and it's all there for me. Terria on the other hand has me constantly going to it's wiki page, because the game itself won't flat out tell me important info when I need it, and even games like Minecraft have been falling prey to Wikipedia dependency over time (I'm in my late 30's, I really don't have time to keep scanning wikis when tabbing out of the games, and it also ruins my immersion/playthrough pacing). I've more gripes with Terraria, and as much as I like Terraria, I feel like Starbound has more soul. Despite Starbound's story mode being super generic and short, it's still something, whilst Terraria really doesn't have much of anything for it's simulations (it has some lore, but it's not told to you like a story, which most folks on the planet earth tend to refer to, not Dark Souls tid-bit breadcrumb info, that hardcore nerds thrive on, and yes I'm a nerd, but I prefer stories and info put up front, not hidden and made cryptic on purpose). I honestly wish Terraria had taken more pages from Starbound, but it likely never will since Starbound floundered, crashed and burned, thus not pushing Terraria to step outside it's generic "build a hut, battle bosses" routine.

Terraria, 2900 Steam hours. Starbound, 1800 Steam hours. Starbound is the one I play more often, so it will eventually pass Terraria in hours. To me, it's more fun, especially modded.

I feel like you're right sorta about the Karma thing, & maybe also related to if a character class is considered a good type like a Paladin. Where it's something along those types can kill assassins & necromancers with little to no bad Karma gained. As for the ear thing from as far as I slightly remember, on their page somewhere it mentioned there's supposed a Bounty/Assassination Auctuon system players can use to either bounties or assassinations where the ear is cut off to use as proof to complete it. As for the ruling thing, I wonder if it'll take into account how the NPC in the areas would react to a tyrant player taxing & doing lots of bad stuff. Think it'd be interesting if there'd be some sort of mission players not associated with the territory can get to help them rebel against the tyrant player. As for how I think it'd be interesting if it gives players a slight boost in stats & speed of taking over the place ruled by a tyrant player; maybe the NPC can even have a small few hidden rebel hideouts that those associated with the territory can get a quest for to destroy, in which case it'd lower the stat boost & takeover time. Perhaps a court system for the rulers that allows them to imprison the rebels, or send them to work at a mine, or execute them. I think though if they did something like that, they should include a time limit for if they're ruled by tyrant players long enough then they become used to it & don't rebel as often. All things unlikely to be considered or happen cause I don't know how they'd implement such things, but it would feel very fitting for the setting as irl even back in older times; once oppressed long & harsh enough people might be less likely to rebel.

Henrik made this game exactly for guilds like tribe and os, heavy numbers and many allies with easy simple one click builds . Mortal is rp social game a lot of people miss that point

Good idea for a video, im guessing starbound is more scripted and handcrafted vs randomly genrated with terria. Ive seen alot of people complain about starbound terrain so intresting take.

Hurts my head that the minimum mana regen says 0.5% more minimum mana regen but its 0.5% of that you currently have. So if your in heavy armor and you got cleric you get 30% minimum mana regen and you get 5.5% of the mastery tree. You logically think you would get 35.5% but no. Its 31.65% so you get 5.5% of your current mana regen %. However i dont know if this means you get 105.5% with 6kg armor. I didnt look for that sadly.

I just played Reign of Guilds and I have to say, this is a kids' game compared to Mortal Online 1. I’m a ten-year veteran of MO1 and Reign of Guilds is not even one percent as good as MO. There’s no way to parry attacks, you can’t become a murderer like in MO1, and you need a shield to block. Don’t even waste your time with this one.

Putting out steam IDs is really inacceptable to me. That's chinese gacha company level of professional. And for gacha games that is all fun because who gives a damn about other players, in a proper multiplayer game and in the steam economy there is no room for public pillories. I guess it was a good thing I waited. I was on the fence since I'd play alone, but if that is the route the devs go, they can do so without my money.

I think he didn't like the initial combat and decided to throw his sucker in the dirt off the rip. It's EA and the game does have issues and needs a lot of work, but there were a lot of the things he that didn't grasp that were due to him simply not reading what was in front of him. That's on him, not the developers.

the combat is directional it just uses wasd instead of directioin on mouse movement. but i agree it need to stay this way lol
