Hello, thanks for making such a nice movie with my game. I can see that you put your passion and heart into your work. I have read your comment about Atari 8-bit games and thank you very much for appreciating my game and also the Polish GAME DEV scene. You are right here that Polish programmers, especially graphic designers, squeezed all the possibilities from the Atari-8 bit to impress with something new, beautiful and difficult to program code. I think that most of the games released by Avalon, ASF and Mirage kept the level, or even pushed it upwards in the world scale. My diagnosis of this is quite simple. The Atari 8-bit came to the Polish market quite late. In the West there were already 16 bit computers like Amiga or Atari ST, and in Poland we had 8-bit computers. Of course there were Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad etc. However, for an unexplained reason, Atari won the hearts of Poles, including mine. I encountered the Atari 800XL for the first time at my classmate Krzysztof Synowiec. He always invites me and a few friends to play a game after school. I was 7-8 years old then. I asked my parents to buy me an Atari, and in those days in Poland in socialist times it was not an easy task. Computers were available in such a special store. It was called PEWEX and you could only buy there for dollars. The Atari 65xe cost $ 125 US + a tape recorder around $ 50 US. In the 1980s it was very expensive in Poland, but still I managed to persuade my parents to buy me. I think somewhere at the age of 8-9 I already had an Atari 65xe with a tape recorder in my home :-) Of course, at the beginning, as a child, you played games, but I quickly got bored of it and started to write my first programs and learn graphics. Of course, first in BASIC, then Turbo Basic (here I have already created a few demos and 2-3 games). It is known that even in T. Basic it is impossible to create an interesting game with good graphics, T. Basic was simply too slow. At the age of 12-13 years I started to learn ASEMBLER and it resulted in creating such "decent" demos: I list in order of time: 1. ANTIC DEMO 2. TAURUS DEMO 3. EURO DEMO And when I gained so much skill and confidence, I decided to write my first game. (of course, I was already working on a floppy disk 1050) I was able to program and create graphics, and for one game myself, music. I list in order of time: 1. TURBICAN 2. MAGIC DIMENSION 3. Tavern Turbican and Magic Dimension games, I saw that you managed to tame and make a great video of the game. Although as you wrote that you like the effects of Atari 8bit, I suggest you see what the intro to TURBICAN looks like, which was only in the version for disk drives. In this intro you are thinking really a show of Atari 8bit colors and graphics :-) However, the last TAWERNA game can be found on you tube, all you need to do is enter Tavern Atari 8bit and you can see it. Tavern is a slightly different game, but I honestly believe that the opening credits of the game are made almost like a standalone demo. : I wrote cod and graphics myself so I know how much work it cost me. To sum up, the games were basically released at the turn of 1992-1993. I published them by the ASF company from Gdańsk, Poland, they took care of creating the title cover and distributing them all over Poland. I don't want it to sound like bragging rights, but I was able to make a lot of money on these games for that time. For the Turbican alone, I earned enough to buy an Amiga 600 (a staggering price at that time) and a motorbike ETZ 150. :-) Such were the times in Poland in the years 1985-1995.

@@pbsoft1976 As you can see, my runplays are recorded with cheats, just to show a game to spectators, but for myself, I always try to beat a game fair and square, without cheats, of course. I remember beating Turbican before making my video for the channel ,very good game, but a little short, only 5 floors, if I remember right, but the gameplay is very good. I missed Tavern somehow but I guess I will return to Atari 8 bit to finish all the games I missed. If you want to know my all time favorite Atari 8 bit games, here they are 1. Robbo That;s the game I played in my childhood. I didnt have Atari, but my brother had, and I ofter came to him to play, and the game we played the most was Robbo. It was just blowing my mind, literally, the gameplay was very clever. If I remember right, the original version contained 50 levels, and we finished them all without any help. 2. Zybex The second best game, 16 gigantic levels, which you could choose, and especially 2 player simultaneous gameplay, me and my brother finished this also, the most important part is not to lose any power ups in the later levels 3. Ninja Very short, but apealing game, at the beginning we didnt know what to do in this game, and just fight those ninjas, we didnt know that we were supposed to collect treasures 4. Henry House, one of the best looking classical games on the platform. I liked the fact that after death you start right from the last level, infinite continues 5. Artefakt Przodkow. I finished it myself, hard puzzles, but very satisfying when you finally managed to solve something. I remember that I didnt know how to use elevators, and stucked for sometime because of that. 6. Miecze Valdgira II. One of the greatest adventures on the system, a big world, almost like in Dizzy and good and smart puzzles 7. Krucjata. like the previous game, also very interesting and kept me busy for quite a long time, smart puzzles. I remember that you could finish it with some keys and shovels left, you could skip some part of the game As for myself, I had Zx spectrum at the time, and thats my favorite 8 bit system of all time, so many great games, like Thousands of them, literally. In the future, i want to play some Commodore 64 and Amiga games, because I didnt play them much at the time

@@RunplaysinHD I agree with you in 90% of the statements. I would like to know about this phenomenon. The perception of 2 games in the form of a comparison made by two different entities. With a different cognitive experience :-) Can you mini-write where are you from? And where do you live ? Because it is an important factor which is important for the evaluation of the same "games" ...........

@@pbsoft1976 i can only say that now I live in France :) I speak French, English, Ukranian, Russian, Italian, and I understand Spanish and a little Japanese, I attended a school with a japanese teacher for 2 years. All those languages help me play video games, watch movies etc etc. Ukranian and Russian help me understand a little Polish games, there are many similar words and of course Google Translate
