Unreal Adventure
США
Добавлен 12 янв 2024
Welcome to Unreal Adventure, an evolution of a well-known off-road endurance event that's been going on for 25 years! If off-roading, hardcore rockcrawling, camping, and hanging out with your buddies as you spend a week traveling anywhere from 1,000-1,400 miles and hitting some of the hardest trails in the country, you've come to the right place! We're going to bring you tons of off-road action, adventure, trail fixes, 4x4 shenanigans, and a whole lot more. Every year we travel to different regions across the USA and spend a week exploring trails, checking out unusual destinations, and essentially live out of our four-wheel drive vehicles for 7 days. In addition to the event itself, we're going to go behind the scenes, interviewing participants, sponsors, cronies, and a whole lot more. If this sounds like a good time, check back often as there will be fresh videos being uploaded frequently throughout the year.
Unreal Adventure Post Mortem! Behind the Scenes Stories, Memorable Moments, and What's in the Future

Unreal Adventure Dirty Dozen Time!
Would love to see the breakage and the fixes.
The new format is so much better. Longer videos with more content, the videography was fantastic. I agree with a lot of the other comments about crew/driver/vehicle introductions, especially that it should be included it in the first video of the series. It seemed like any of that content came much later peppered into later videos. Kory got a little too much screen time and I wanted to hear more from others. It would be especially cool to throw in some "technical tips" during an obstacle. Have a camera inside with Chris Durham during an obstacle and have him explain how he's approaching it, and what is going through his mind while tackling it, how to adjust when its not working...some tips the viewer could use in their own wheeling. Overall great job, can't wait to see how this channel and the event evolves in the next year! Thank you for bringing us along.
I literally laughed out loud, and when Tom Presented the trophy, I WAS CLAPPING in my living room like when I was 12 and first watched "Rocky" 🤣 At 55 years old, the U A has been a monster part of my life, vacation planning, and vehicle build planning for years. It's SO EPIC THIS YEAR, I'm just stunned, and happy to know it's STILL GOING ON okay enough with the sappy stuff... Now my Idaho vacation (to run Compressor) has to somehow convince my Wife Babe (maybe when she's asleep in the passenger seat) to swing by Skyjacker and get a picture of that Tom Boyd trophy. I LOVE THAT GUY 🤘😂 Strickly Platonic, he's cool as hell 😂
I’ve been binge watching and loving this Unreal Adventure series this reminds me of the old days. Thank you for bringing us along and showing the extras and all the planning.. this is like what Saturday morning used to be like Powerblock was on Spike tv, Stacey David was on Gearz and couldn’t get enough of Dirt Everyday! good times!
It would be great if there was a build video for this awesome truck. Maybe for your 2025 vehicle. hint hint hint
Ooh I heard RamCharger! #savethewindows
Man loving these episodes!!!!!
I thought the videos were well balanced. I'd like to see more of the carnage and fixes. Keep it up!
I wanna do this so bad! Be a lot of fun!
Single arch McDonalds at 30:54 made me do a double take..!
Sorry, but the zoom call format isn't watchable. Glad to see you guys keeping ua alive though.
Thanks Guys
More! MORE! What great series, always a great event but even better now! Thanks for keeping this going, I look forward to all the content.
What a fun assortment of trucks and people. The breakdowns make this trip so much more relatable as opposed to a bunch of high dollar buggies that seem indestructible.
this year was the best so far!! Keep up the great work and one year hope to have a rig worthy of being selected for the Adventure!!
I loved this series. My number one complaint in the past was how short the videos were. I know some people may not like the road days but, i think they bring a little more reality to the struggle of completing the event. I think your whole crew did a great job this year and i look forward to watching the 2025 event.
The event looked amazing and the video coverage was great!! I didnt see that Josh fellow around any though... need to find him and bring him back. 🤣
I love UA, this year was awesome, great job, I know you need the sponsorship and have to advertise, but at the end of the old UA, it was 90% advertising and 10% wheeling. We hope that moving forward, you can keep a good balance.
That’s absolutely the plan. The fact is, like any event, sponsorship is an essential part of making an event happen. But unlike the old regime we feel there’s more of a value in the product itself and therefore a better service to those same sponsors by keeping an appropriate balance as opposed to cramming sponsor messages down viewer’s throats every few minutes.
Thank you, I look forward to every event and have watched all of the past years that i could find, it definitely makes for a better final product, and a little less like pit road at a Nascar event lol
Are you gonna keep Unreal Aventure on the level that it is now or are you ever going to change up on the specs of the vehicles. I say this because im a single father on a limited income ( I know I should have never gotten into this shit) I don't have the means to build a rig at the level you guys are at. Also I'm on the East Coast....... Maybe on a smaller rig level on the East Coast????? Christian Trent
Interesting question…we think there’s a perception that you need to build some giga-buck off-road rig to be a part of UA, when that’s really not the case at all. Take a look at Trask Wyman’s F-350. Has he made an investment in his truck? Sure, but not nearly at the level as some of the other rigs on the trip. He started with a good foundation, kept things simple, improved what needed improving and broke out a Sawzall to handle the rest. And he was able to hang with and in some cases outdo some much higher dollar rigs while having just as much fun as everyone else. He’s far from the exception…Bobby Summers and his 4-Runner a couple years ago comes to mind, as does Georgia Jackson’s Ramcharger last year…neither of these were over the top builds. Robert Keller’s GMC truck is another; Trent’s beige Blazer from several years ago is yet another. Trent had less than $9k in that whole truck including the purchase price. You don’t need a fat wallet to build something that will handle a UA. You can absolutely be successful on a budget with some ingenuity and some skills. Are we talking a fast food budget? No. More along the lines of a Chilis or Applebees budget as opposed to a Ruth’s Chris steakhouse sort of budget. Don’t get us wrong, going on the trip itself can be a little spendy mostly due to fuel depending on your location in relation to where it’s held, but we don’t have much control over that and it’s not like costs would go down with a milder rig. That said, I think most alumni would tell you it’s well worth it. -T&C
@UnrealAdventure4x4 thanks for the advice.....I'm on 33s and lol not sure I'd have the clearance to hang with you guys! But the long term plan is to move Southwest So maybe 1 day hopefully I can catch up with you guys and see how it's really done.! Been watching since the beginning......thank you guys for what you do!
The minimum tire for UA is and has been 35s for at least the last 15 years…you’re not far away! Thanks for the input and thanks for watching. When you think you’re ready, apply! It costs nothing. We sincerely appreciate the support in the meantime!
@UnrealAdventure4x4 thank you guys for all you do!
Awesome trail and great line up of custom trucks. You guys have portrayed the trails well but could probably cut most of the driver meet and added more content on Wheeling parts. Well done on the rigs being fully self-sufficient and not really needed 3rd party support as most of stuff could be fixed trail side
Nicely done. I had 86 and gave it to my brother in law. Let me say never look the same after. He was a painter.
A carnage and trail repair video would help people getting into doing this for what to bring and how to retail repair.
Do 1 in fall...1 in spring...and maybe a mntn trip in summer
We've thought about that but don't want to dilute the original event...but maybe shorter, mini versions in different regions might be cool.
Been fallowing UA on youtube and MotorTrend the last few years, and as a viewer, Alaska was the best year. This was #2
Can’t wait for next years adventure. You guys rock!!🤘
Thoroughly enjoyed every episode! Road days, trail days, behind the scenes, everything!!!
Great to hear and thanks for watching!
I really liked how you did the each video! I thought the reader interviews were excellent, able to get to know the name, faces and vehicle! I think, short 5-10 minute outtakes on trail repairs and multiple vehicles on an obstical will keep interest alive! I really hope, you have an "old school" UA! Keep up the great work! Almost, done with my CJ6 and will be ready for the old school run! 😃
Best UA production to date in my opinion. I get it that folks want to see lots of wheelin’ but the road day video was by far my favorite part of the series. Checking out the rigs, towns and locations and of course getting to know all of the different personalities and hearing their stories was fantastic. Much like the reasoning behind my 40+ year addiction to this hobby, it’s everything that leads up to a great day of off-roading that keeps me coming back for more. Personally, I would love to see the footage just keep on coming, kind of like one of those movies that starts at the end then goes into everything that led up to the finale.
Great times fellas
Great coverage this year! 36:38 Thanks Trent, I had a great time leading the group around, hanging at camp with everyone and even during the prerun. I call the trail system Caballo as well but it also gets referred to as The Chile Challenge Trails too, I'm not aware of an official name. Also, 40:25 this trail leader with a short wheelbase just didn't show you the bigger falls in the area, haha! They are there and rival some of the Cruces stuff but are on trails that just aren't fit for full size/body vehicles. Come on back anytime!
Thanks for all of your help, Brian!
The videos were great this year. I would like a video on each rig and driver.
A bonus compilation of the carnage would be awesome!
"Corporate sword of death and doom hanging over my head waiting to strike me down!" :D You guys are killing it! Inspiring!
The video coverage was so much better than years past. I would love to have seen more wheeling, but also thought the series covered the event perfectly. The follow up videos of different rigs doing the same obstacle would be awesome that way the original series is a get way of feeling like we are on the event with you. Then the follow up videos give us the wheeling coverage we want. Love this event and how y'all are moving it forward
I really enjoyed the series and always look forward to seeing the adventures and adding more places to see on my bucket list. I’d love to see a “so you want to go on UA” type video that walks through the application process and vehicle requirements necessary for tech inspection.
I loved every moment of this series. Thanks for not skimping on the production quality.
Thanks for the kind words!
Imho I would love more background on each rig and the journey to make it UA ready. Loved Dave’s videos getting the Jeep truck thing ready. I bet each driver has a similar story to tell. Send a camera for the weeks leading up to the event. You want the audience to be rooting for the drivers/rigs. And yes more breakdown and overcoming obstacles- driver and wrench. Cheers and well done! Looking forward To UA 25!
I think this is a great idea! Maybe the ones that are comfortable filming their own comment ( like Dave ) could submit their own to save cost on sending a camera man.
This was the most enjoyable UA video series I have seen. Thanks for not skimping on the production value. I hope you get enough interest to continue this for many more years.
It was an awesome event to be a part of! We never wanted it to end 😂 Awesome job guys, can’t wait to see what y’all do in the future!
Thanks for keeping this event alive, the coverage was top notch. Been following this since its inception, can't wait till I can apply.
I would love to see the the preparation that each of the rigs went through after they got invited. What they packed what things they changed for the trip things like that. Granted I don't know how plausible that is
I really like the road days that's what always made UA to me. I enjoy the breakdowns and fixes on those days.
Freedom fractions! Hahaha. I like hearing the camera guys talking. Made it feel like RUclips in the best way possible. Big YES to trail fix videos. Trail fixes are half the fun of wheeling and provide great candid moments.
Good job. Loved all the videos. I liked behind-the-scenes.
Don't change how your doing now it's awesome entertainment
I loved ALL the "behind the scenes" interviews before the trip, and Vern in the background always working on a cool thing, and the sponsors mixed in the video with their products, and the movement through the group on check in day that was GREAT to see. And the vehicle walk-arounds were EPICALLY cool because it felt like you meet the driver and co, then you check out their rig, and hang out, then you guys were rolling. The video was just awesome, I think it was the most organized editing so BIG OL AWESOME kudos (or cookies?) to Ryan. I could go on for hours I really want to get my build to that level again, and I was sad, and worried, about seeing any events like this when I first heard the news. I think you guys blasted this so far outta' the park. Okay I'll stop or I'll be going on like a 10 year old on Christmas Thank you so much for doing this for all for us You guys ROCK 🤘😎
Thanks so much for watching!
Awesome video guys
I thought the videos were great. Maybe you can do the flex rock and rollovers type thing and put out a long form video of the entire thing thats mainly just the action (for the crybabies)
Best coverage I’ve seen. Keep it up.
This was awesome. I missed you all. Miss my monthly jp mag
