I know I already made a funny haha comment, but I just gotta give genuine props for these lyrics 3:53-4:04 Performance aside, I think this might be the best segment of the song. When most people think of smile dog, they think of the creepy image in your computer that'll kill ya dead if you don't pass the image on. Not The Dragon, though. The lyrics paint him as something more than a malicious virus, something worse, something ancient that has only donned the digital format because of its convenience. He says so himself, machines cant hold him, because they never did in the first place. The lyrics make him out to be a being that has existed far before Sara was even a glimpse of a thought, before the name Sara was even concieved, before language was concieved, a primeval force that tormeneted man even as they built their first cities with clay and stone and demanded their worship; and a being that will continue to be even when Sara and all that she knows has returned to dust and blown away. As long as there is a way to "spread the word", whether it be cave paintings or idols made from mud or drawing or writing or photograph or word of mouth or some poor curious soul on the internet, The Dragon will gorge itself.
