    OK I thought that nursing was awful only in my country. Eventually there is a general problem. Next generation nurses will be only the robots. And I don't even care.

    News Flash almost every job/career is $hit. The only difference is that in Nursing, you get paid above average compared to most other professions. Teachers have it worse. Today's job climate is a reflection and symptom of society's lack of Emotional Intelligence and Morals.

    My mother was an registered nurse, along with a couple of my aunts so you have my profound respect, I understand the hardships, late night shifts, dealing with demanding, all sordid patients, so when I enter a hospital, as long the nurses are respectful towards me and my family, I give them the same in return, and yes I have dealt with nurses whom should NEVER work anywhere in a faulty hospitals, nursing homes etc. Nevertheless, for the most part, my experience with nurses has been excellent.

    Thanks for bringing up the bitchy nurses. as a male nurse, it's horrible how these women treat you on top of the other bs you gotta deal with. Great on you for looking after yourself. I applaud you. I wish I had the courage to leave. I'm too reliant on this paycheck to leave. I'm have no other work skills and don't know what I really want to do:(

    I quit bedside nursing (ER & ICU) nearly 3 years ago and my mental health has done a complete 180°. The conditions nurses face in the inpatient setting is abhorrent. Staffing, safety, patient load… how many nurses have to leave before the system collapses? I feel like we must be getting close. Hopefully some new horizons are in the near future. Love this video & thanks for sharing! ❤

    Im currently working as an ED Tech in a very busy Level 1 Trauma Center with hopes of getting into PA school. Working in EMS before this has kept me positive but after attending interviews that feel fake and performative, and the low pay of my position I have been resenting healthcare more and more. I considered nursing as a backup since I have been rejected from the PA schools I’ve interviewed for, but after working in the ED, I realized nursing would not be for me. I’m looking at a career change but I’m lost on where to go from here.

    I just started months ago. And I feel the exact same way you feel. I want to quit every time there. I dread going there. I’m very sad and I literally hate people even though I love caring for others. It’s life sucking th life out of me and essentially it’s terrible. At least from my pov, this assistance don’t do any work and I’m essentially a maid. Constantly on my feet every 30 mins cleaning, changing, getting water getting food taking to the bathroom. The CNA literally go turn off the light to tell me to go help them. I always thought they were helpful, but I’ve never seen something like this before. It’s like I don’t even have any CNA’s. The disrespect, belittling and treatment from patients and family members and condescension from nurses. it’s the most laborious job I’ve ever had so physically demanding I have plantar fasciitis and hip pain. It will not resolve. I’ve tried everything. Repeat so terribly messing up. My body is suffering . It’s not worth it at all. I feel like I’ve been lied to. It’s the worst decision I’ve ever made. i’m in my mid-20s and I would never in my life. Recommend Nursing to anyone. I would never lie to them the way people lied to me. I’ll tell them the truth about what it is and what to avoid. It’s not worth it you’ll be struggling your whole life, unless you want to be a travel nurse constantly search for security, which works for some people

All of those classes don’t count towards anything but nursing so what is your next step? I always hear people making videos like this, but no one says what they are going to do now.

    Had to stop at 2:05 in to say this...I worked med-surg and got so fed up with the ridiculous refusals I educated them on their choices. Either way, whether they did or did not agree I told them I was going home at 7. They were the ones admitted. It was up to them as to how well they got and when they wanted to go home, but ME??? I get to go home.

    • @kimberlyneal-zn7dn
      @kimberlyneal-zn7dn Месяц назад

      And then I listened to the rest. All of it is right on. I worked the hospital 7 years. The last year I transferred to another floor. I suffered lateral violence from a co-worker who was backed by our "mean girl" boss and the education co-ordinater. The RN (charge nurse) began sabotaging me to the point it was going to effect my license. I stayed late, typed my resignation, slid it under the door, and walked out not to go back. Yes, I burned that bridge because when I burn bridges I will not go back. I am a good nurse and I refuse to let people that are condescending and immature cost me my license. Upper management was no help either. So there's that.

    • @dgeneeknapp3168
      @dgeneeknapp3168 Месяц назад

      @@kimberlyneal-zn7dnI'm that education coordinator that just burned that bridge. They lied about several aspects of the job that dramatically affected my ability at 60 to manage the demands of the job. Had they been truthful about the number of shifts I would pull 12 hours on the units, I wouldn't have accepted the job....all at well below going wages for an experienced BSN. I was only given FIVE days of PTO annually....not ONE of which could I take the first 12 months of employment. The pay is beginning to not be that great, the benefits are beginning to suck, and the nonsense of the system is making a difficult job ridiculous.

    I’m so glad I came across this. I’ve developed major insomnia and I boiled it down to being anxious because I know it’s going to be a fucking circus at work. I feel like I’m just on my feet 24/7 between demands from patients and families. The constant understaffing and increase of needy patients, I think I might lose it.

I have been diagnosed with major depression, aniexty and slight OCD. I had to fight to be off a long list of antidepressant. I know I have PTSD too. I was considering nursing.
