I’m inspired by paleontology hence the name paleo online
Check out the concretions in eastern utah or Cleveland Lloyd dinosaur quarry.
I'll add it to my list! Maybe we'll have to make a video about that...It's been a while since I've been out to the Jurassic Natl Monument 🦖
@@fossilize_llc the concretions are called different things. Buried petrified forest, stuff to do with petrified wood because minerals from water ways built up in rings. It looks like several trees were fossilized into the cliff face. To get to them, take Highway 6 past Wellington, Utah, off to the right there is a little sign leading you on a dirt road. Just follow the signs. I think it’s on google maps. Cleveland Lloyd is over by San Raphael swell. Emery county. I think you might be thinking vernal area.
Well there's Dinosaur National Monument in Vernal. The company I used to work for did the Allosaurus display there 😀 but there's also Jurassic National Monument in Cleveland Lloyd. Very cool place that not many get out to. We'll definitely have to head out to Wellington, that sounds epic
@@fossilize_llc Utah does have a tendency to re-use names in this area. lol. We live close to the concretions now. The turn off is just past junction 123 on highway 6. Since we moved back to the area, I’ve been taking my family to all the cool places my parents took me to when I was little. 9 mile is great if you love hieroglyphs and petroglyphs. That’s so cool that your company worked on Al! I’ve always loved fossils. I spent a lot of time at the price library and the museum next to it. We often go rock hunting in various places now. I found petrified amber up in helper a couple of years ago. My kids have had a great time picking up petrified wood all over here. We leave the big pieces for everyone to enjoy, but they all have a few smaller pieces of it. I love being back here. It’s so fun to be able to show and teach my family about the history and do things with them like seeing fossils and native ruins. I think that’s one of the best pursuits out there! I’m a new subscriber because of your obvious love of fossils. Thank you so much for posting in the uintahs! It’s been awhile since we’ve been up there but we put it on our travel list for this summer.
I'll definitely check out those concretions, they sound awesome! I don't actually have any petrified wood in my collection, so that's on my list. I appreciate that, thank you for watching!
Good video man just found the channel keep it up!
Thank you I appreciate that
No thanks for the click bait 😢
😢 I know it was a bust this time, but we're headed to the fossil quarry this weekend so hopefully we come up with some more fossils this trip
That Tahoe though 🔥
Surprisingly capable for being 17 years old haha That V8 👌
@@fossilize_llc not surprising at all, body on frame vehicles always tended to be tanks and last longer.
Yeah body on frame is the way to go, especially when I'm out in the middle of nowhere digging
Those are not some of the oldest fossils on earth.Australia has fossils dating to over 3.5 billion.
My knowledge of Australian fossils is definitely lacking...sounds like I have some reading to do!
The microfossils in the Uinta Mountains Group are more like 750 Ma old. They're not anything like the illustrations you show. And they're limited to shale layers in the Red Pine Shale. The literature reports Chuaria and smaller fiber-like fossils. I'm unable to find published images of the fossils. It's too bad that the beauty of the view is spoiled by a fire ring and trash.
I know I got up there and saw the trash left by some dirt bikers, so we had to pick up after them when we left :/ Such a bummer
I live on some of the youngest rocks in the world, The Chalk Downlands of The South East of England. Even then there's an enormous amount of deep time, until now. These rocks are many magnitudes of order, older.
You've got some epic views there in the chalk downlands! I definitely need to make it out there sometime, Captain
Very cool
Next time maybe film yourself actually fossil hunting. Geez.
Yeah sometimes it's a bust and I don't end up finding anything 😔 I wasn't sure if people would be interested in the failure, so I appreciate the feedback
@@fossilize_llcthere is no success without failure.
Wise words
@@fossilize_llc Still interesting and makes me want to go fossil hunting
Better feedback would be he's our Indiana Jones and you don't always see Indiana Jones obtaining artifacts 1:58 ?@@fossilize_llc
I like learning about fossils- thanks for the video
Glad to have you, thanks for watching!
Number 1: its Pteranodon Numbwr 2: not even a dino
When people confudes pterodactyl with pteranodon: ☺️🔫
😂 for real
So true
Haha i love this😂
It’s not a trilobite is a … imprint where one used to be
The left half has the real trilobite, the right has the imprint 🙂
@@fossilize_llc it’s still just soil depositions It’s not the real body
Right, anything organic was replaced millions of years ago through fossilization. All that's left is stone 🪨
it is very clear that it was standing before they attached, they absolutely knocked it over. they should never have been out on the flat. 4x4 people need to learn that mud is the limit, and to STAY ON ROADS. if it is not an OHV Park open area, stay on the fucking road.
I agree 💯 I definitely understand the panic of being stuck, but they shouldn't have even been there off the trail period
What's your favorite trail in Moab??
That is deep for that trail😳
Yeah it was epic but had me second guessing for a minute!
Uhm nobody cares
A few of my favorite places like this in southern illinois.Oh,FJB!
Scuba jeep
Should have turned right
