I feel that this mix has aspects that the one on Feel Flows box set doesn't. I love the piano in this mix. It seems to get buried in the official release.

The CATP Don Goldberg version was apparently going to be on Carl and the Passions, but Bruce hid the tape.
These backing vocals are Don Goldberg, Brian Wilson, and David Sandler! Meaning it’s entirely a 1972 recording with no overdubbed parts from afterwards! Neat!

I love it, but more bass would perfect it. It sounds a little hollow right now.
2nd part (with don goldberg's vocal) reminds me a lot of lobo's "me and you and a dog named boo".👍 Good to hear this, because the new beach boys Sail On Sailor box set has removed this vocal from the track they included.

iv'e never even heard of this song and honestly the one on the box set is far better
I think they did it for authenticity. I remember reading that many of the overdubs were done in the early 80's without the Beach Boys' involvement.
@@paljardine1538 honestly i have no idea but you may be right. shit like that does happen so it does not surprise me. hell if you think about it we got a lot of their shit on various bootlegs because it was stolen or lost. such as i believe the sweet insanity stuff i think some of that was stolen way back when. some of the stuff on the new box set was shit they were able to either find or were given throughout the past 16 years i read.
i fact in the interview i read they said that the only reason some of the Dennis stuff was found was by pure luck it was on a tape that was given to them or they found years ago that they finally when through and it wasn't even labeled it was just pure luck, look up the interview with Mark Linnet and i forget what the other dudes name was something Boyd. they can tell it better than i can

The organ one with Al singing was actually recorded *after* the band version, as an aborted remake.
I would’ve loved to see the 2nd version fully developed for Holland, or just that snippet as a transition to Big Sur
