Honestly, ALL of the scenes in "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure" should have been deleted. 😂
Awful, awful movie. Most of the characters/actors, awful, full of themselves, sets, lighting, all so cheap looking after the stellar classic original. Allen, blew his career up over this egotistical piece along with The Swarm. BTPA, in the theater seats, I thought as an older teen, rip-off.
Incredible considering the budget was $10 million compared to the smaller $4 million budget of the original 1972 film.

A better idea would have been to delete ALL the scenes. Erase the movie from existance 😂
BRAVO. Allen, and his greed and ego, went off the deep-end here. It is like Space:1999's Year-2, won't acknowledged as it was cheap imitation of Y1, same with this film. Egregiously, wouldn't let the classic end of the PA, be the end.
I have both versions on d.v.d. The theatrical version has finally been recorded on blu-ray for the first time ever. It is on the box set '''IRWIN ALLEN-THE MASTER OF DISASTER COLLECTION''. Coming September 12th.
I thought the film was ok, except Sally Field’s attempt at humor throughout was some awful writing.
No, her 'acting' was awful as well...
Yea, there's the scenes I remembered from seeing this on tv over forty years ago. Some of this I don't know if it aired even then. Later, I recorded it off tv and I was going, hey, they cut out this stuff and that.

@@jc8010 My abiding memory was the producer being furious with Billy Idol... The programme went out 'live' and just as the cameras started rolling he undid his long black coat to reveal what can only be described as a leather codpiece 😂 This was quite risqué for 1981 I think. I wish Shout Factory would release a special edition uncut version of the film on blu ray. I know this movie isn't that great as it has a lot of continuity errors with the first one, but it's still a great sequel for those who love the first film and disaster films in general. It's also got a great, epic soundtrack that nearly matches the first.
Shout Factory is now officially releasing it on Blu-Ray as part of a 7 disc set of Irwin Allen films. It’s advertised as a 2K scan from the inter-positive in mono with the TV cut as a special feature, most likely sourced from a VHS or Beta since they were unable to get a master tape or film reel

I guess that means this movie would be like a 135-minute cut. I wonder if this movie is yet to be re-release with a theatrical cut, and director's cut. :)

Since it looks like the deleted footage was shot on film rather than videotape, the footage could just be sitting in Warner’s archives with the original negative. Maybe Shout Factory could do a collector’s edition with a 2K scan of both theatrical and extended like they did with King Kong and load it with bonus features
Thank you for posting this! I’ve been looking for these 30 minutes of deleted scenes since forever. I think they should have kept the majority of them in the movie. They explain a lot about some of the scenes where the dialogue was a bit out of context. Plus they add more to the story, especially the missing scenes with the merediths and the nurse.
