Good to see you back. I certainly like your lure collection.
Thanks mate appreciate it! Hope the Barra fishing has been treating you well? Getting a decent selection 😝
I see great things to come 😎🎣
Thanks mate, definitely have a lot planned 👌🎣
Love mine, put 6/15 braid on it with a 6’6” med rod
That's an outstanding catch Karl, i had no idea they got that big in West Lakes.
Next month i will travel seoul korea i will buy some fishing items, i live in Qatar. please give me location, thank you
That’s fantastic! I’m sure you will enjoy your time in Seoul it’s such a lovely city. Here is a link to my Naver list of tackle shops. [NAVER Map] Tackle Shops naver.me/5jJbNcX9 Feel free to contact me via DM on Instagram or Facebook for more details.
We’re do you guys launch ya kayaks from there
The water is a lot lower now so is a fair walk with your kayak. You will definitely need a good set of wheels. Pending what kayak you have you can launch in the small creek. (I was just able to launch my PA14 on the weekend from the creek) if the water gets much lower you have to wheel your kayak over the hill. Feel free to contact me on Facebook or Instagram if you would like more info I will send a map 👍
Tell me my friends, can you eat the fish caught in the Para Reservoir? Enjoying your videos. I will be fishing from the bank. Too old to kayak, almost 70. Safer for me. Lol
Hello, thanks for reaching out 👋 You can eat the fish from South Para and I find the Redfin from there some of the cleanest looking fish. With the native species you must keep to the bag limits however with the Redfin tasting much better I let the native species go for fun and Redfin for the table. Make sure you have a fishing permit and read the rules and regs 👍 plenty of great fishing from the bank and bait fishing does very well also. Tight lines 🎣
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing Thank you very much. We loved redfin all those years ago and found they were great for the table. I am sure that hasn't changed. I will get my licence shortly so I can get in on the fun. Keep up the videos, it keeps me motivated. Well done. 😊👍🐟🎣
Wow... that was awesome. Love the release too. Well done mate.
Hey mate, love your work... question is when seeing the fish pop up on your screen are they directly under you or behind?
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment. It really depends how quickly you are moving. Generally they will be in your trail by the time you see the mark on the sounder. Once located you can search slowly until you are over them. When you are sitting directly above a fish they will be long stringy marks as the beam from the transducer will be hitting the same fish over and over again.
Great video mate! Caught a couple reddies off the bank last week. I didn't know they stocked it with Cod! Only gold and silver perch.
Thanks mate, nice work on the reddies. Keen to get back out once the water levels get up a bit. Plenty of Cod have been stocked and just recently Rainbow Trout!
Hi karl do you have a twin brother Trevor
Looks quite cold there Karl. Good to see that the fishing is still good.
Moved up north and forgotten what winter looks like 😂 the mornings are definitely chilly now but fishing has been good!! I see you've been getting into a few Barra 👌
Your videos are so good❤❤❤❤❤
Your videos would be a lot better if your camera wasn't so zoomed in you should give a wider angle a go
How big are the cid there, im using 5kg line and just wanna catch and release a murray cod and catch it on the tt switchblade plus in silver minnow color...
Nice work Karl - wherabouts were you fishing, I don't recognise it. Went to KI a couple of weeks back and the only flattie I hooked on a lure spat it but I did get a real horse on bait, I've posted the video so check it out!
When I went I didn’t catch anything 😢
They are very pressured fish in Happy Valley. Can be difficult to catch at times.
When I went I didn’t catch anything 😢
Do yk if there are any yabbies/shrimp there
Yeah depending which ressie they are both found. But you can’t use shrimp or yabbie nets in our reservoirs.
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing how can ya catch em?
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing and I'm talking about south para
I’ll tell my mate his house needs a coat of paint…oh, nice fish.
Haha thanks mate 👍
just started watching your vids mate, some great cod fishing and some good content. might see ya out there, Subbed !
Thanks for the comment and appreciate the support 🎣
God bless bro✝️💪🙏
Hi Karl, can you give me a rough idea of where this is?
Hey mate, flick me a message on instagram or my facebook page 👍
Some nice cod there mate. Interesting how all their tails are split?? Those types of swimbaits certainly are the bomb. As always, I certainly enjoyed the video too. Cheers 🍻
Thanks mate, yeah I actually didn’t notice that until you just mentioned it. They all seemed in reasonable nick but have definitely caught a few in the past which looks like they’ve had a tough time… Appreciate the support mate 🍻🎣
Nice vid. Thanks for posting. I'm visiting Seoul in August. Could you tell me where the tackle shops are? I'm visiting from the states and am hoping to find some interesting stuff in colors/patterns I can't get over here.
Thanks mate, definitely can help you out with some shops to check out. Have you been to Seoul before? If you wanted to send me a message on instagram I can send you some places. Also If you wanted to fish I can point you in the right direction for a guide 👌🎣
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing that would be great. What's your IG handle?
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing That would be great. Looked for you on IG, but couldn't find your account. Might have time to go looking for that river tarpon in Seoul.
Hey sorry I didn’t see your comment earlier and I thought it was you that messaged me on Insta about Seoul the other week. If you go to my RUclips home page I should have links to either Insta or Facebook. If you send me a message I have a map of tackle shops 🎣
Good job
Looks like you've lowered your standards Karl! Love the soundtrack lol.
Haha, well it put up the best fight of the day! Haha glad you like the track 🤣 I thought it was quite fitting for the mess I was in 🤭
Nice! Size?
Good morning, bud. Happy New Year, Enjoyed the video man. I just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work and keep them coming. Tight lines.
its actually disappointing to see the govts doing so much for these lakes all the while completely neglecting the murray river. reservoir stocking needs to cease asap.
cant believe they are stocking these lakes that arent natural habitat whilst completely ignoring the murray where they belong...
Great job what lure was the mully??
Thanks mate. Got him on a Ecogear ZX 🎣
Look like Lingcod here in USA,
Nice, I’ll have to take a look at Lingcod on Google 👍
Hi Karl. I live in Adelaide and have fished along that rock wall and had no luck. Can you please explain what you are looking at in your fish finder and what types of lures you’re using to successfully catch a Murray Cod.
Thanks for the comment 👍 on my fish finder I was looking at live imaging of my lure being retrieved. I was looking at how my lure was swimming and trying different retrievals. Also watching if any fish were following. I have a number of videos in my Murray Cod playlist which you might find beneficial to watch as I tend to use many different types of lures in happy valley. All can be very effective! Keep an eye out for future videos as I’m planning to make a few more “how to” type videos.
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing that sounds great Karl. I’ve watched most of your videos and noticed how successful you are while using your fish finder which is why I asked as I’m still trying to learn how to use mine and understand what I’m looking for.
Very nice Karl, those local fish are certainly putting on some size.
Thanks Frank, they definitely are putting on some length! However I’m finding the fish from South Para & Myponga are putting on a lot more weight!
Nice session Karl , seen your new lot of lures from your trip OS ,remember seeing one like the one your using i think , seems they work well , did you try any other of the big lures your brought back on this fish :) must have a go in that resivor some time soon
Thank you, it was a fun little session 🎣 yes the lure I was using was the BAO200SF which I bought overseas. I didn’t get time to fish any of the other lures I purchased on this occasion however keep an eye out as I will be using them in soon 👌 definitely worth a fish at HV! The outlet is great land based if you don’t have a kayak 👍
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing hi Karl ... just subscribed ... I'm land based ... what/where do you mean by "the outlet"?
What line do you use???
I typically use Sunline siglon ADV PE braid and Sunline Rock FC as my fluro 🎣
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing yeah okay thanks mate
Not a bad session Karl. At least you can walk around the waters edge and not worry about crocodiles or stingers or stonefish around the coastline. Fishing for flathead is certainly a lot of fun on light gear. Great catch too with really cool underwater shots. Keep up the good work.
Cheers mate, I was thinking that watching your pb Barra vid! Was thinking watch out for those big lizards! Apparently the support mate 🎣
Cracking flatty for s.a mate. My biggest is 72cm down in Innes NP. They get real fat and wide at that size. Great you released it 👌
Thanks mate, I was stoked to pick up a couple of nice ones 😊 haven’t targeted flathead in a very very long time… nice work on your PB! That’s a cracker. Hopefully I can find a few more good ones in the future. I’ll have to pack the brag mat next time!
Some real nice fish there Karl and loved the close up underwater shots, well done! We get some real horses on KI most years (but not on lures!) - I should give them a try! The whiting was a bit of a surprise.
Thanks Frank, i was great to get a couple of nice ones. Hadn’t fished for Flathead in 10+ years so was great just to catch any to be honest. The the fish were very chilled when releasing and were happy to hang around for underwater shots 👌 Would love to see a video from your channel with some horse KI flathead that would be awesome 🎣 you definitely need to give it a go on lure! I thought I had a little salmon trout on at first as it had seen a few cruising around earlier… was not expecting a whiting especially with the way it whacked the lure…
@@Karl_Wild_Fishing That will have to wait for a while 😞 Usually (for the last 20 years!) I have gone over early in the NY, but this year for reasons beyond my control I probably won't get there now before Easter. Never mind, I'm sure the fish will still be there!
great collection mate. What were the prices like for tackle over there? Also, do you know if those cubes are available in Australia? Name?
Thanks mate! Prices were similar to Australia overall really. Pending on the brand they might be +-$5 from what you would find them online for here. (If they are available here) OSP have been making those cubes for awhile now and a few other brands have something similar I’ve noticed. To be honest I haven’t looked for them in Australia so not sure if anyone is selling them. They are called OSP dice, I’m sure if you search google they will come up. I can’t recall the name at the moment but I’ve seen an even better looking dice type lure from another company. If I remember I’ll flick you a DM 👍
Nice job landing such a great fish on light gear. Another cold but sunny day I see on SP.
Thanks mate, yeah we have had an interesting summer so far down here…
fish finders cheating bro lmao
where did you get that fish ruler ftom?
Hey mate, got it awhile ago from a random website. Doesn’t look like they sell them anymore… I know Hobie do a good one otherwise maybe have a search around online & see what you can find.
Such beautiful fish! Subscribed #537
Was a beauty 🎣 appreciate the sub 🙏
Sweet. We share a last name.
Back of the island seems like a real honey hole. Great fish brother. I did my first SP session 2 weeks back and got onto a beautiful little cod and a few perch thanks to your advice. Much appreciated. Might see you out there one day
The island is definitely a great spot and the fish love the cliff section. Awesome work mate, SP can take some time to work out so getting a Cod and a few perch on your first trip Is amazing 👌 definitely come say hey if you ever see my out on one of the ressie 🎣
Awesome video mate! South para is my local but ive never been there yet. How do you rate it compared to myponga and HV? And first time advice? Yak based. Cheers in advance legend
Thanks mate, South Para is definitely my favourite ressie of all near Adelaide. It’s definitely the most challenging of the bunch over the colder months. When it gets warmer 15 - 20+ native in a session casting is quite achievable. The quality of fish is also in my opinion is a step above the rest. Fair chance for a 80cm+ Cod & 50cm+ Golden. A lot more water than HV and not as obvious structure wise as Mypo. Most banks have at south para have produced fish for me at some point so would just recommend covering water until you find them. 🎣
@Karl_Wild_Fishing awesome mate. I went down for an hr this afternoon land based and got a 38cm redfin. Keen for the weekend now!
He was playing! What a good fight, i got smoked on 8lb a week ago but the cod took me straight under a log :(
Yeah definitely playing games with me… I got smoked twice with 14lb the other day fishing lay downs. They don’t muck around anymore…
Love ya work buddy....beautiful looking fish 👌
Thanks mate. Promising signs for future years 🎣
