Neat video, also any clue what whistle she's sporting?
You have to admire how much life the LIRR got out of these, but the locomotives and cars were beyond long in the tooth by this point.

The hydraulic drive takes away from the character of the engine. Keep them OEM people.

M1s were just refurbished into M3, it's the same train they just took the M1 car and made upgrades. If you look at current M3's today, you'll see the old M logo which was solely on M1 cars. Now peeled off, but basically they overhauled the cars into a more "modern" feel and look.

Hello what are the specs of the layout?
Those trains came out in the early 90s long time ago win they was new.
The M3s here we're built between 1984-1986. So those trains weren't really new when those videos were taken.
The M1s were made in 1968-1971 for LIRR and 1971-1973 for Penn central which it’s Metro North
Does anyone know if any of the train makers made a train with MTA on it I’ve tried googling it to no avail
