Ya try algae wafers yet ?

Why does we need the pellet food at all? I mean it is not always that a food source is in a concentrated at just one place? Is it not the main food source to go around and eat biofilm and alge all day long? So if we have food that is distributed all over the tank instead of the "one place pellet". Should not that promote their natural behavior as scavenger seaking and eating "all over"?❤

Make sure their algae pellets don’t have copper. They like blanched cucumbers and green beans. Cuttlebone.

Why don't more people address this? I had a well established 40 gallon with 32 cardinals, 12 corydoras. Out if no where all the cardinals died in a matter of days and half corydoras. Water parameters where fine nothing had changed.... except we had a skunk get under the house and I was using multiple essential oil diffusers around the clock to cover that smell.... I had no idea I was killing my fish. 😢

I’m here because I have this pump with only two tanks. 4 filters. Is there a consensus on how much psi the system should be running at? I drilled a 3/16” hole in pvc just to relieve pressure but it’s annoyingly loud and not sure if I’m letting too much pressure out now.

My my 😮😮 that’s a sight ,, yes assassins are mean they make their prey suffer , I have a bunch under my substrate/gravel I couldn’t tell you how many as I only see them when I turn on the light. But they’re a rough and tumble species all right. They’re mating ritual is brutal 😮😮

Duckweed is a cakewalk compaired to Utricularia gibba, i still keep duckweed because on all the tanks ive let it go in i was able to remove all of it very easily.

You think the Barometric Pressure is more of a "Trigger" to initiate breeding. Similar to light change initiating Flowering for plants. Once the light change, it is almost impossible to reverse the light amount without causing insane stress. This is a very interesting project. Excited to see more over the years.

I had 2 Assassin's snails in my shrimp tank and noticed 2 shrimp deaths over 2 weeks. In the first case, the shrimp was hollowed out and filled with water. In the second case, the shrimp was stuck to some kind of mucus-like substance which the snail must have secreted and the shrimp probably died unable to free out. Removed both the snails immediately.

Probably a weak shrimp. Assassin snails wont eat healthy shrimp as they are not as fast as a healthy shrimp

To this day, I am still afraid putting assassin snail to my aquarium since there are some shrimp and Thai micro crab

I have had a pea puffer for 2 years in a 5.5 gal tank of male guppies. Heavily planted with enough ramshorn snails. 'Puffy' has taught me WHAT he wants. #1 He eats the snail eggs and newly hatched snails. #2 When the elder snails die off, he comes to the glass and lets me know to add more adults to lay those eggs.#3 I have never seen him eat an adult snail. He gets mad at the occasional one that he suspects is not laying enough eggs and PUSHES the snail over. That's all. CONCLUSION - there is a wonderful BALANCE in this tank due to the snails constantly cleaning while Puffy keeps them from over-populating. TWO YEARS of this now. I LOVE it!!!!!!😊😊😊
