Finally getting around to opening a few of those vintage wax packs I've saved up. Today we have a 1963 penny pack for you!

It's been a while but I have several packs ready to break. I don't do this often so still a few things to learn on video capture. I'll get better on the zoom next time for the cards. Appreciate everyone's feedback on some of the last pack break comments regarding tricks for resealing older packs. Thanks and enjoy!

    Earl Williams and Larry Lintz almost look like a "Make Your Own Topps Card" & Joe Verbanic and Gary Bell look like "College Yearbook Photos Card". I would also refuse to allow the Gary Sutherland photo BUNTING on any card of my likeness. GREAT VIDEO!

    Reading a lot of the comments they are pretty much dead on. The chance of packs not searched are resealed, unless authenticated or if you owned them to begin with, are 50-50 at best. If that's the case, a person might as well just by the wrapper as it's cool and worth something.

    You learn something new every day, I didn't know they made a 1 card pack except maybe real early 50's.

    Yep - Boozer and Moore are 7th. Reynolds is 5th. Tovar is 6th (but often the final couple of series are combined. Savage 5th series (there is a white-letter variation is his.)

    My first major collection was the 1976 set. The '68 Cookie Rojas card has wax staining on the back. Looks like the wax was forced into the card stock when it was resealed

    Repacking packs was big in the 80's on the wax packs, then the 89 upperdeck with the low numbers, shame people gotta scam someone on things like this. Would have been awesome to pull something with more then the packaging out

    Kit Young had unopened boxes back to 1972 at one time. 1971 or before boxes or packs are likely resealed as it’s 99% unlikely that they are original unopened.

  • @kevindelong7046
    @kevindelong7046 7 месяцев назад

    The last original real unopened 1968 packs I ever saw were bought by Mr Mint Al Rosen who bought two boxes from a lady who owned a candy store in Mississippi. She would put the extra boxes in the attic after each season. She sold all her extra boxes to Rosen when she closed the candy store and retired. In that overflow of boxes were two 1968 boxes. I watched him open those boxes and he found two Ryan’s and 4 Bench rookies. I bought a Ryan and 2 Bench cards. The one Ryan he kept was perfect centered and it was PSA graded 10.

      Pretty sure that's a pop 1 too. 1968 Ryan/Koosman RC has always been my grail card. Someday I will get a PSA Authentic or a PSA 1.

    • @kevindelong7046
      @kevindelong7046 3 месяца назад

      Just for a follow up the one he sold me graded PSA 9. The centering was 58/42 and perfect otherwise.

      My first year collecting as well but managed to hang onto them. No slabbing or sleeves back then but the held up pretty well in a Converse Sneaker box until I learned how to take better care of them.

    Enjoyed watching you open these despite them being "altered." That stain you are looking at on Rojas is from the gum. Pretty common for packs that have been sitting for that long. What did you end up doing with the wrappers and the cards?
