These shoes were most heavy shoes that i've skated so far, even in comparison with etnies michelin models. So I've only using them with thinner insole. They're really kinda durable but they become too flexy so fast. So yes, not the best at all.

You are from Houston, i just moved here a couple of months ago... that was my local park with the ditch but I moved more west now
I really like the soles on these, really nice grippiness, so much they actually feel sticky on one of my carpets. But they are very heavy and the board feel is pretty bad. They do feel really good to ollie in though. I also grew up with the bulky Osiris era shoes and have a soft spot for them, so recently I also bought a pair of DC Lynx Zero's. I am surprised at how much I like those - superb boardfeel, and I love the look, and actually they're quite a narrow shoe, not bulky - actually so narrow I had to step up to 10.5 even though I normally wear 10 or 9.5. Each shoe weighs exactly 1lb compared to 1lb 4ozs for each Temple (size 10). That's the only reason I don't like the LZ's, I feel like there's more than 1/2" of space between my toe and the tip of the shoe and it bugs me. So I have two skate shoes that I'm not completely satisfied with, even though I love them both.
I'm curious about the sole durability and grip. I'm coming from half-cabs, which I rip through pretty quickly and it's always the rear sole due to the freestyle I do. I'm hoping these DCs (at a third the cost) will last at least as long and save me a lot of $. I like them so far and agree entirely with your opinions, but I've found the sole not as grippy as the Vans. I'm hoping that makes them hardier, but also hoping they grip up a bit, maybe there's a releasing compound on them from the mold that is effecting their performance for example. How have you found the grip level?
I was wrong about the durability of these shoes, and after 8 months they are still going strong. They are truly great shoes for skating.

Yeah 8 months means nothing, no shoe lasts more then a couple weeks when skating properly. Not saying i do that any longer👴🏻 but thats how it is.

After skating these for a couple weeks, i can say i agree with you. Not the best shoe for skating. The boardfeel isnt really good. Theyre also bulky and wide. I have a 10 but they feel like a 10.5. Tweaked my ankle 2 times in the short time i skated with them🙄. Hope this helps someone!
It took me about 3 months to mostly break them in, but they still feel too bulky.

Right now most of the shoes are made to have a good board feel and skinny cool look . But does not protect the feet . That really sucks !
