Three Trains In A Hot Hour On The NS Southern Tier Line In Owego • 07/27/2024
an unexpected afternoon trifecta. i got out to check the signals and noticed the Eastbound Main Signal at CP236 had an approach lit. five minutes later came a super long 264, crawling towards the bridge and the old Erie Railroad station. shortly after, 316 went east, then 309 headed West coming out of the siding. apologize about the shakiness, i did not have my tripod with me during this trip. i also apologize about the lighting since it was getting close to 5:30pm. in the first clip, i noted the time as 3:38pm, i meant 4:38pm.

this is a very important route, serving Cornell, Downtown, and the Airport. it is used by mostly students, residents, and people traveling. it also serves a few medical offices and apartment complexes. this was an awesome ride with one of TCAT's coolest drivers.!!!

this was a 100% unexpected catch. i was driving around and saw the train crawling towards the yard. i knew i had enough time to make it to the station before it passed thru, and this video was the result. very interesting to see the Cab Car trailing. i imagine it is being sent off for refurbishment. i apologize about the awkward fence angle. the crew was really cool too.!

this was an awesome ride with an awesome driver.! I'm really glad i got to do this. this 35 trip runs via Main Street. local trips alternate to run via Main Street or Watson Blvd. Garfield Ave and Broad St is the temporary terminus due to construction at the normal terminus. 3618 sounded incredible. it is powered by a very noisy turbocharged EMD 645 Prime Mover. this video is for the people who love EMD locomotives and hearing them under a heavy load. this was 100% unexpected, and it was definitely an awesome catch.!!!

every Friday afternoon/evening on the Montauk Branch in the summer looks very similar to this. the Cannonball is the hottest train on the railroad and is one of the longest distance non Amtrak trains you can ride in the United States. also featured in the beginning is a not so great shot of New York & Atlantic Railway RS71 heading back to Fresh Pond after switching on the main east of Ronkonkoma.

here's two of the most important evening trains on the Port Jefferson Branch. 662 would have EMD DM30AC 519, which has the most crisp sounding Nathan K5LL on the railroad. the Nathan K5LL was made to cut down on decibel levels produced by the original K5LAs, which were 100% unrestricted and sounded at full power. it was created by the LIRR's Morris Park Shops in 1999/2000. it was fitted with a ...

518 arguably has the best Nathan K5LA on the entire LIRR. here it is bringing Train 660 into St James on a very warm Thursday evening. also seen in the video is the 1873 built station depot.

16:00 The Gallery opened in the 70’s as The Gallery is was closed in the 2010’s for renovation & in general rebuild. It opened sometime in COVID as the Fashion District Edit: The original name was the Gallery renamed to ‘The Gallery at Market East’ later on. The Fasion District opened in 2019 after The Gallery’s closure in the early-mid 2010’s on the same site

Back in the Ommind Jooy days, 40th - 34th was governed by grade-timed signals. The trains seemed only able to make 25 MPH.
The electronic whistles bloody suck. I dearly wish SEPTA had fitted Wabtec AA-2 horns as on Silverliner II and BSS Kawasaki rolling stock.

Where/what is BC Junction?
it is the main transit/intercity bus hub of Broome County and the City of Binghamton, NY. it is located on Prospect Ave in Downtown Binghamton.
@@evangouldtransit thanks for the response. I hate the idea Greyhound has abandoned most traditional depots for bus stops, park benches, and intermodals, but that's progress I guess. I haven't ridden in many, many years. But I'm a Greyhound enthusiast. Keep up your good work. Peace.
@@thegodblogger3812 i can honestly agree. the good news is the Chenango Street entrance retains its original Greyhound appearance, but other than that, it is just a generic transportation center. i wish things could still be as unique as they once were.....

I traveled Greyhound in the 60s and 70s as a kid and loved seeing the different types and styles of depots--sawtooth and pull-through platforms as well as different architecture-- Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, El Paso, Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles---as well as a few I saw but didn't travel through; Montgomery, Mobile, Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, the PABT (no architecture but compelling all the same).
