Guillermo wanted to be a vampire for the wrong reasons IMO. We'll never know where the deep desire came from (apart from Harveys own school bullying theory). And i never understood that he was willing to sever his family relationships for the sake of an obsession he had since childhood. He didnt really face the potential impact till mid season 5 (he would have to say goodbye to his family because their Van Helsing instincts would kick in if he saw them as a vampire). There's gotta be deeper and more motivators to pursue the vampire life than just having vampires be a special interest and being bullied as a kid. Or maybe he wants it so he'd be more appealing as a romantic partner for Nandor, but even that's a shit excuse. Don't alter your life for the sake of a fucking guy! Thats like girl rule no.1.

Guillermo rescuing Nandor was fucking awesome. Like, he’s actually a fantastic bodyguard. Completely unassuming, too, considering his appearance. You’d expect a guy that looks like him to be the unpaid intern or whatever, but nah. He is the absolute fucking Dreadnought of a man that will lay your ass out cold if you lay so much as an unkind look on his master. Badass dude. As a WOD fan all I gotta say is “Nandor, turn ya boi into a ghoul, cover him in, like, 800lbs of body armor, get him a PKM. Theyre cheap, they’re made primarily of cheap, Russian sheet steel-I mean GLORIOUS STALINIUM!!! Then, watch your enemies crumble before you.”

I always felt like Nandor didn’t turn him because he thought Guillermo wouldn’t need him anymore and would leave. Then, as time went on Nandor knew Guillermo wouldn’t be able to handle it. He knows that Guillermo has a romantic and childish view of what a vampire is and that he would regret it. Either way, he does it out of love for his little buddy.

Beng a vampire is not all its cracked up to be sure its would be cool to become a bat to fly anywere and have powers and fangs but the whole blood drinking thing is just tragic. I mean you have to forever DRINK SOUP to survive. You cant eat normal food at all, your forever hunted and alone, HOPELESSLY missunderstood! to see your loved ones die ahead of you, if your a vampire you have to find a make another vamp to keep yourself from being lonely!!!!! it's a heartbeaking existance!
