As a Russian I can confirm this is a Russian knife making company. They are well known to a local knife enthusiast community.
It's pronounced Makarov in Engrish.
Good to know about the feel of the slim micarta. I was debating whether to hold out for a micarta version of the TRX, but I guess it’s not worth it. Were you able to kill the blade play by adjusting the pivot? Thanks for the vid.
I have several trx bucks. Love them. Take some money off and do a cheaper box. The box has nothing to do with knife function
Got my East German Makarov 9x18 when the first arrived here surplus. I has the military holster w/ extra magazine in it. I’m sure I was never issued. Seems like it was less than $150. Nice smooth trigger and action. Never a jam or miss fire yet. Not selling it. It’s in pristine condition. Not a bad concealed carry pistol. I have four different makes for that. A Rossi M88 -2” 38 special, the Makarov, a Ruger American Pro 9mm. and a Ruger MCP 380. They are all a little heavy except the 380 but all work well and capable of self defense. Thanks for the good video.
That's a super condition EG makarov ! also just friendly trivia it's pronounced ma KA rov .. with emphasis on 2nd sylible. Of course the German makarovs are the highest quality machining and finish ; )
shame they couldn’t get these down around $50-$60. would still be a pricy work knife at that price, but doable. maybe a 420 variant could be priced down there.
My 112 slim i just put the lanyard on the pocket clip snugged up so it wouldnt come off. And the clip still works great.
Excelente cuchillo saludos desde Monclova coahuila Mexico....
Great video man!! I’m looking at getting this knife, I believe the hole in the pocket clip is considered to be the lanyard hole!
Great overview, man. Thanks! I have a 1962 East German Makarov as well. It's a fantastic gun, in my opinion. Accurate. Reliable. Durable. Compact and easy to carry. It's 60 years old this year, but still has a place in my carry rotation. Love the gun. Will never part with mine. And now I want one of the those armorer/gauging kits you mentioned. That would be kinda dope. Thanks again!
Здравствуйте.Скажите,он не ржавеет???И сколько едениц закалка,он крио закален???
The S30V steel in this blade is stainless and corrosion resistant. The heat treat is Bucks Paul Bos heat treat which I do believe is a cryo hardening process from what I have gathered. Per Buck, hardness is is RC 59.5 - 61.

I believe it’s called an American tan too tip
I don't worry about centering, as long as I can adjust the pivot, so I'm really glad they upgraded to adjustable hardware. It was the biggest thing holding these great models back imo.
Thank you for watching! I agree, this is a great blade and I love it. I have carried it everyday since making the video and it’s everything I hoped it would be. The upgrades they’ve incorporated were much needed and really make it for me.
Nice. Good job on your first video. Glad to support with a sub. Keep em coming man!
Thanks for the video of a great and underestimated pistol, esp in 2022. Peace.
Thank you for watching my video! They are definitely underrated. They deserve a bit of respect and attention.
Great little pistol’s loved them.
Just got the black version...no complaints from me. The lack of liners will make this a great warm weather knife.
I completely forget it’s in my pocket. Between the profile and weight it’s a real joy. I’ve carried some knives of similar size that were just too heavy.
Great review, really enjoyed it. I have an extensive 110 collection, I wonder if you try to tighten the pivot a bit it may fix the centering and blade movement (or maybe not).
Thanks David! I will give that a try. The play I mention in the video is very minimal so anyone looking at picking one up shouldn’t be deterred by it. Big weight difference between these and the traditional 110! All great knives, can’t help but love them all.
