180 Foot Rappel Underground - Polygamy Cave
Polygamy Cave is a popular Utah Cave. It has roughly 1,300ft in passage and a total depth of almost 400ft. It has a great combination of horizontal passages and pits. It's also very common to see bats in this cave. We explored almost all the known passages in this video.

Amazing Underground Waterfalls - Main Drain Cave
Просмотров 888Месяц назад
Main Drain is the deepest cave in Utah and one of the deepest caves in the USA. It's roughly 1,300ft deep with many leads yet to be explored. On-going scuba diving expeditions have continued to push this cave deeper. It's a very cold cave with large pits. In this video we journey down to the top of Frayed Knot, one of the largest of the pits in Main Drain. The Timpanogos Grotto is a 501c3 non-p...

Crystal Caves in Grand Cayman is a show cave run by www.caymancrystalcaves.com/ The tour is made up of 3 caves which are incredibly well decorated. There are over 100 caves on the property. It is a fun area to hang out and see while visiting Grand Cayman. We were able to map the 3 show caves they have on the property. These caves have lots of cave life and are very warm compared to the alpine c...
Descending to the Top of Utah's Deepest Pit - Nielsons Well Cave Part 1

Nielsons Well has some of the deepest pits in Utah with two being over 300 feet deep. The largest underground room in Utah sits at the bottom of the entrance pit. It is large enough to fit houses inside. This is a very technical cave and it is recommended to visit with someone that has been before. Huge Deep Pits in Utah Cave - Boomerang Cave
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.4 месяца назад
Boomerang Cave is an awesome vertical cave in Utah. It has very little horizontal passage and almost 400 feet of rope work. On this trip, we did the entire cave twice for training totaling about 770 feet of vertical rope work. It's important to have some experience before visiting a cave like this. The entrance pit alone is 150 feet. The Timpanogos Grotto is a 501c3 non-profit in Utah that help...

Utah Caving in Single Digits - Canteen Springs Cave
THIS WOULD BE IMCREDIBLE FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ARE but ANTS HELLO PEOPLE
My friend helped map it. His best friend growing up is Ryan of Ryan’s Ice Climb.
That's awesome, I know some of the guys who mapped it. They discovered, explored, and mapped many caves in this area. They did awesome work. It's called Ryans Ice Climb because when they explored the cave he free-climbed that spot with no rope and discovered the continuing passage in the cave that led it to the deepest cave in Utah.
bless my innocent little heart but I'm just now becoming aware of the actual name of this and where its at.... POLYGAMY in UTAH lmfaooooooo
haha it's pretty funny and close by is another cave with the name Polygamy's End.
Always been fascinated but the thought of squeezing through some of those smaller spots makes my palms sweat .
Love the video!
Great vid! I felt kinship with you when I saw the blue gloves because that's what I use in caves. Then I heard you holler "ropes free", which is also something I yell. Now I'm wondering if these are all things that are pretty standard among cavers or if you and I just happen to have been hanging around some of the same people. In any case, watching your vids makes me want to revisit some of these caves that I haven't done in a while and make it to the ones I haven't been to yet.
Love it and thank you. These are definitely my favorite caving gloves. I'm sure caving lingo is similar with some differences depending on region but who knows.
Another great adventure. I got a bit quesy in places but you all make it look so easy. God bless you all.
@@CatholicSister Thank you! It’s a fun one.
this is amazing! love the weather recently
@@conn0r_gray537 thanks man!
@@austingoodsell gotta catch ya at the next grotto meeting 🤙
@@conn0r_gray537 For sure, I’ll be on zoom but definitely reach out.
@@conn0r_gray537 For sure!
Very, very nice video. I last did this exact trip, to the top of Frayed Knot Pit, in 2006. Modern lights and the latest GoPros are vastly better.
I appreciate it, I'm happy we can take better equipment in to attempt to capture the experience. Still hard in big rooms without a high-power flashlight 20,000+ lumens. We may get one eventually though.
this is so sick
Curious to know if you have been in Neff's Cave in Neffs Caynon (Near Millcreek) I hear there are some very Deep portions of that cave. Many years ago while hiking in Neffs canyon. Me and some freinds of mine found an opening in the ground near a souther faceing slope not too far from the trail head. and a few of us (Not me) climbed in side. I read later on the timp grotto website that they still had not mapped the entire cave. many rescue parties had been called to the cave as far back as the 1960' or 70's for poeplke that got in had no ropes and got stuck. Anyway this is very awsesome i had no Idea. although Peter sinks is in that area as well marking some of the coldest tempuratures recorded in the state.
I have been to Neffs Cave twice. I actually filmed the top half of the cave a week ago. That video will eventually make it on here. It is a neat cave and is the second deepest cave in the state behind Main Drain Cave. Neffs is around 1,100ft deep. It's a steep descending crack in the ground. I have not been all the way to the bottom but it ends in a sump which is a pool of water. There were a lot of rescues in that cave so the Forest Service gated it. Now you have to get permission to go into the cave and go with someone who has been before. If you remember where the hole was on the south-facing slope I would love to check it out. It sounds really neat.
I was just there over the weekend standing at the entrance to MD. Were these the conditions on 8/18/2024? Did anyone on your crew leave behind an Osprey toiletrie bag?
This was actually filmed in June. It is very possible one of the teams that went in recently left it. I know the other teams who have been in over the last few weeks.
Burrrr.....enjoyed the journey. So beautiful. Music a bit loud. God bless.
Thank you! We are still working on making the music the right volume. Its different depending on the device and whether or not headphones are being used. We will get it eventually haha.
Just now departing Carlsbad Caverns. The majesty of God! How blessed you are to spend time caving.
@@CatholicSister Carlsbad looks amazing. I haven't been down there yet but in the next two years I am hoping to plan a trip down there to hit a couple of the caves. We definitely feel blessed being able to explore these caves.
Amazing video!
The cave named after my great great grandfather 🫡
If I remember the story right, he was the hunter who came across the cave first.
So cool!
Little Brush creek cave near Vernal has been mapped 18 miles long. Has a pit in it 320 ft deep.
Do you know where that pit is? Our grotto is working on pushing and mapping leads in that cave currently and we are not aware of any pit even close to that size. Also currently, it's only mapped to 6 miles long.
@@austingoodsell I have been there several times, the pit in this cave is 4 miles in cave. The cave is on Ashley Natl Forest and is locked and gated, contact them for possible access. I was in the cave in the late Sixty's, went with one of the Men that mapped it Arnold Ufford, and Bob Strickland. It's not far of the HWY that goes from vernal to Flaming gorge, sorry I don't remember the HWY # contact me if you need more help. Good Luck, Rob
@@austingoodsell YT has censored my reply to you in their infinite wisdom. Don't know why but I'm getting tired of being censored by these commie's. F YT
@@austingoodsell The Pit is back in little brush Creek cave about 4 miles in.
A word of caution on that cave, it fills with water if there is a bad rainstorm. We only went in the Winter. The cave is gated and locked by the US Forest service.
Such magnificent caves! I have never seen caves like these before. Thank you for sharing. Your channel is wonderful. Blessings.
Thank you!
Descend means to go down ascend means go up, so which is it?

Wowwwwwww
That's scary 😮
Nice to see caves without DUDE nonstop
Mountains, caves, skiing, rock climbing. If you love outdoor activities SLC is a great place to live.
great video . would have enjoyed more without the music. as no music makes the viewing feel so much more epic
Absolutely fabulous! I usually can't watch cavrrs but loved your filming. I can only explore above ground. Loved it.
sheesh
What is the most awesome thing you have found while caving? No background music would be better
That's a hard one. We have seen amazing formations and awesome waterfalls deep underground but once I was deep in a cave exploring a new passage I discovered and came across a bison horn half buried in sand. That was neat.
@@austingoodsell What a great find!
You explorers are some very brave people! Outstanding video.
New sub here hello from Australia nice work indeed.
I first heard about this cave as a kid and always wanted to go check it out, but I never got the chance. Now that I've seen how beautiful it is in there, 40 years later, I want to go in there even more! 😀
I also sent a video of cave exploration. Thank you for watching.
Fantastic explore & pretty gutsey, but you all look like very experienced rope climbers. Thanks for sharing your film.

Hello. My name is Jef Walker. I tried to leave a comment but I think it was deleted bc I left my phone number. I have a cave I think you would be very interested in exploring. You would be the first to document it and it’s not on any map. Only the “Old Timers” know about it. I spent 12 years trying to find it and finally did locate it. I think it may have the largest descent in Utah. How do I connect with you and tell you about it?
The cave is on Mount Mahogany at the base of Timpanogos above Pleasant Grove, Utah.
@@Flyhisky Hi Jef, nice to meet you. I would be interested in checking it out. I know of a few deep caves on that mountain. Connect with me at agoodsell96@gmail.com

i love watching your videos! i've always wanted to go caving but i have a lot of anxiety issues and i think i'd panic. it's so cool watching other people do it, thank you for posting your adventures!
@tsukikage8 thanks for the comment! If you ever want to try it just find a local grotto and ask them to take you to a bigger cave first and go just a little ways in and see what you think. Every caver has a limit and comfort level. There is no shame in sticking to particular types of caves or only going in the entrance. Let us know if you ever try it out. It’s addicting!
Great work! Thanks for sharing this awesome cave with folks. A true Utah gem!
More please. Longer videos too. Awesome channel.
Magical cave!
