Really nice. Great transitions to the altissimo
Really nice Marilyn 🎉❤
There is a great newish interface called FarPlay that has solved latency issues. (Created by a musician)
No sound
Thanks for doing this... I've been wondering about this feature.
Marilyn's video uses a false background. That is a _real_ drag on CPU time. It might work better without a false background -- or perhaps, as an extreme measure, turning off video altogether. Thanks for doing this!
That's a good point about the background.
you have to use ethernet. wi-fi will always compromise Live Performance Audio. can you run another session with you both using ethernet? thanks for the video.
You should try SonoBus! (SonoBus is literally years ahead of Zoom in this technology)
To be fair to Zoom, WiFi and actual distance will always be hard limitations. There is nothing that Zoom could do from a coding perspective that would overcome the additional latency of one of the participants being on Wi-Fi. In almost all cases, ethernet is a requirement for actual low latency interactions.
So many factors to consider here as far as minimizing latency. Having been involved with the initial release of Sonobus, it's really hard to get things dialed in right to get the latency down even in the best of circumstances, and even harder for non-techie folks to get it right. I'm sure this will be useful when, for example, a teacher and student both have optimized audio systems and are both on ethernet and within 100 miles of each other. For the larger Zoom music events I host, I don't think it's going to allow us to do what we would ideally want to do as far as playing together, just because of the wide range of audio and network hardware out there. Plus we often have events with players from the US, Japan, and Australia, all at the same time where the physical distance would be the limiting factor even if everything else was optimized for minimal latency. As a result, we will most likely stick with our "one player at a time" format.
Have you explored FarPlay yet? I have worked extensively with a member of low latency apps, and it really seems to hit the sweet spot of lowest latency, accurate latency estimates within app, and simplicity of use. I think no app will dependably work without Ethernet, which is the core of my comment above.

No knock on Zoom intended!!! It's wonderful that they are doing this. As a JamKazam/Sonobus user, I definitely understand the limitations of WiFi. The advantage of Zoom is that it's much more friendly to the non-techie.
@@ReturningClarinetist if you've been using JK/SB, you may really appreciate FarPlay. Faster, sounds great, and way less complex.
Thank you for posting this! I host a weekly music Irish music session and just saw this new option in the Zoom client today.
Really well done "Magnificient Seven."
Ah thanks Amici.... I will have to run a bubble bath now x
well done! keep going
