I am a track driver who also likes outdoor warning sirens.
I don't have many sirens nearby to record, so this channel is mainly a collection of my favorite videos from other users.
Please note that I don't guarantee sub-for-sub.

Klaxon CS8 Siren Test, High-Low and All Clear
This is the weekly test of a Klaxon CS8 siren, sounding High-Low followed by the All Clear. The siren is located near Ascot, England. More details below.
This siren is part of a network of thirteen sirens used to warn of escape from Broadmoor Hospital, an asylum for the criminally insane (or, to be politically correct, a high-security psychiatric hospital). The most recent escape from Broadmoor was in 1991. The system is tested every Monday at 10:00.
The siren is a CS8, manufactured by Klaxon Signals. It is equipped with solenoid operated Coded Shutters to produce a variety of signals (which is why it is called the CS), and works in a similar way to a horizontal Federal Signal 3T22 without ...

I find it hard to believe that it can be heard from 30 miles away, let alone at 109dB.
just to put into perspective how old this clip is, the siren had the original all-grey paint, not even the orange or blue one, AND the shutter was not jammed. (i think it got jammed when the siren was painted?)
What is the Other Siren Next to it?
Imagine if the siren was painted fully blue
THIS SIREN IS SLAYY
Starts at 0:36
This is Siren M back when it was working perfectly
Back in 2015 it was blue
2:48 Every CS8 I've heard when it winds down with the shutters closed always resonates in that weird way. I wonder why that is though I'm guessing it just has to do with the resonance of the two tones at that particular pitch.
A Federal Sign & Signal Type 7OC was documented doing that as well. I'm not sure if its the same reason for both sirens, since the 7OC has a big plunger that jams into the rotor, while the CS8 has a damper plate. Probably an air flow thing though. ruclips.net/video/-hUD2R4UXvs/видео.html
The first cs8 video
who ever disliked this absolute masterful siren needs to get some bitches
A 3t22 is basically a cs8 with horns
i put this sound on my friends modulator and jeez it was very loud
When these sirens are running All Clear, when the shutters are closed, there will be no sound, and when it is running down with shutters closed, there is sound.
just for me later: 3:33 Steady 0:33 Alternating
Escape/ Hi-Lo 0:36 - 2:44 All Clear/Alert 3:37 - 5:36

Its broadmoor siren m
3:34 that is so cool!

It's a cs8 that's why
@@robloxsirenrecorder7434 that's crazy because i didn't ask
at 0:36 starts the Hi Lo tone. (Fire signal) at 3:37 starts the Alert/All Clear/Steady tone.
At 0:36 starts the Hi Lo tone Fire Signal At 3:37 Starts the Alert All Clear Steady tone

I think it's Broadmoor siren m but how it's blue and white and this one is not and haves broken shutter but how is this siren at a black skate park then?! This is so weird
I found this sound as half calming, half alarming. Similar goes for London's old British Carter and Castel Castings sirens! The Air raid warning signal frightens me, makes me feel alarmed. The all Clear signal makes me feel relieved, calm.
Now, THIS is a siren that's actually scary! I love it!
So do I!
@@doohickey-enjoyer it is awesome though
@@doohickey-enjoyer I've seen a picture of a CS8 in Australia but I don't know where it is.
@@Sipex6484 ooh, I need to know.
@@doohickey-enjoyer I can ask one of my buddies about it.
Sad that these got removed. They're rare.
Indeed. This one was in good shape too!
@@EASsirenVids01 Very good shape!
The low tone shutter was jammed shut
@@Vigilance108 Not in this video, it seems.
you're right in this case, but in Matt's video this thing sounded like my grandmother trying to get out of bed
looks like a 2t22 but without the horns
5:36 just like the Carstairs CS8's wind-down
sounds like an high low signal
It is
Lol
This was in London, wasn’t it?
Near Ascott, i lived near one in Bracknell.
wesleyville ontario canada has one of these cs8s at the nuclear power plant set to hilo only its now tested with all the other but modern day electronic sirins every other month
Why are there two poles?
Klaxon means horn in French.
Why is that 'hi lo' sound so satisfying??
This is what they should use when reaching time limit in billiards.
I love the "All clear" sound!
Same here. I love it. The high low also has a beautiful tone to it.
@@brandonburkest6229 I agree.
I love the sound of the hi low
This reminds me of my 1 week trip to visit a friend in pripyat
This one sounds AWESOME!!!
back when the shutter wasn't jammed.
@@Vigilance108 The sound is crystal clear - either this recording has been edited, or this siren was maintained beautifully back in 2010.
I can confirm this is Siren M because, this is Ascot skate park and I can tell by the filming position.
@@Vigilance108 I'm aware that it is Siren M, yes.
