Krel - About Time (to Emit) 1995

Complete tape of essentially Martin M solo project, the precursor to "Ad Astra". A couple of tracks are on Ad Astra too, but this is at least as good in its own right. Green Sky is a better version, in my humble opinion! TIME/EMIT is excellent. Enjoy! About Time (to emit) - whole tape 1995 All tracks written by Martin Krel 01: Temporal Anomaly 02: Towers 03: Fragile Earth 04: Time 05: Emit 06: ...
Michel Legrand - Les Parapluis de Cherbourg - complete soundtrack
Audio created from my vinyl copy of "Les Beaux Pianos Romantique No. 2" One side is the complete "The Go-Between" soundtrack, the other is the the complete soundtrack from "Les Parapluis de Cherbourg" (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg). I don't think either versions have ever been released digitally.
Fabulous music by M. Legrand. I also had the LP and also the soundtrack LP of "Umbrellas"which was a mono Philips album.I love this composers mix of classical and jazz. There again he was a pupil of Nadia Boulanger. This music has stuck in my head since my teens,it is so extraordinary.Thans so much for this lovely download.
civil ressemble au jeune
This composer has also done the score of “May December”, a recent film.
Não. Legrand faleceu em 2019. May December é de 2023.
Quality
My first copy in 1979 was in vinyl, with The Umbrellas on side one, and The go-between on side two, in perfect condition. Fortunately, I had made several cassettes of this beautiful piece of work. As a classically trained pianist, this piece touched me more than any other piece, I wish I could get the sheet music, I'm sure although I'm close to the original, it would be nice to see. Fast forward to 2019 broke down and on Amazon ordered from Japan the CD of the same can't tell the difference from the vinyl on my McIntosh Audiophile system playing the CD. Thanks for your video and post of this aural masterpiece.
Hello, so a soundtrack CD exists ? Can you give the link to get this CD ?
@@keplergso8369 I don't think the soundtrack was released on CD. I have on CD "Le messager suite for harpe, clavecin & orchestre" AUVIDIS K1020
It was a beautiful English love story - almost surreal, set in Norfolk. mysterious and with such a wonderful score!
Many years ago our local radio station would occasionally play this piece, and it has haunted me ever since like the lingering memory of an intense fever dream. I didn't know then that the piece was from a movie; I knew it only as _Theme and Variations for Two Pianos and Orchestra._ Hearing it again after nearly 40 years, this piece has lost none of its haunting quality with its tonal suggestions of tragedy, menace, romance, and bittersweet memories. ...I only wish I could buy it on CD.
Yes! You described it perfectly as a fever dream. That is exactly as I experienced the music as an adolescent!
T,'s simple tune make the world turn like my love to my woman - Gerge Herbert 1587--1643
This music is so beautiful, that it almost crushes the movie. I understand that Losey did not want this music, the beginning of the main theme sounds very (too much ?) tragic. Just my opinion. But I love it !
Can't agree. The sense of foreboding was perfect to me. Otherwise the film would seem rather tame & vanilla, up until the drama of the final discovery of the affair. It is a tragic film. Ted commits suicide. Leo is forever emotionally scarred. The elderly Marian is using him again, as her Go Between. The deadly nightshade plant Leo is fascinated by throughout, is her, beautiful but deadly.
I love this album, I had the pleasure of doing a very small bit of percussion on this. I'd played drums for krel in the previous years. I lived at Beech Range,Levenshulme, Manchester for a while, parked my truck outside.. at the time I didn't appreciate what I was involved with. Martin is a genius.. if I could go back in time I'd make the most of these days. As it was I was desperate to get back on the road and see the country I lived in. Jason (Picasso).. Martin.. Dibs.. Curt.. Pod the Collie dog, Shiv.. fkn great times. Krel.. so glad to have been involved in it. Love.. light.. respect. Gibo. xxx We did these songs live through 93-94 at various venues.. loved it.
12:53 sounds like a mix of BMV 1052 and internal strife
It is clear that Legrand was inspired by J.S. Bach in this score.
Absolutely amazing :)
Just illustrates so perfectly the transition from the Victorian period to the Edwardian. But always with a dark threat-the development from adolescence to the horrors that was the Great War!
Something missing big time without Lozzs Bass sound etc
Mick did a sterling job at the gig - alas - sharing equipment with the rest of the bands that day didn't do much for any decent sound-checking - not to mention my shitty iPhone recording!
The score portraits the film both scenicaly and emotionally.I was 6 years old when I watched the film and from there it introduced me to the adult world. The past is another country, they do things differently there.
Brilliant film and score!! Absolutely perfection
