How to adjust brake pedal on 67-72 Chevy GMC truck. Lower brake pedal for more comfortable driving
I show you how to lower your brake pedal to make it easier to switch your foot between the gas and brake pedal. I think this is safer and more comfortable because you don't have to lift your entire leg as far to suddenly hit the brakes.
This is for 67-72 Chevy and GMC trucks, but I'm sure the principle and technique applies to several other vehicles.
I also show how to improvise a very simple brake pedal arm "stop" device which makes your pedal come to rest as it should, and also allows you some fine-tuning of the location of the resting point of the brake pedal arm.
For the stop mechanism you'll need:
1 - 2" x 5/16-18 bolt with threads the entire length
2 - 5/16-18 nuts to use as jam nuts on ...

The Aquabound Manta Ray and Sting Ray kayak paddles are very similar, the biggest difference being that the Sting Ray paddles are slimmer and "low-angle" which means they're meant for the recreational paddler more than the Manta Ray model. Can you show me the power source, I bought a 72 without a heater and starting from scratch. I bought a used heat box, new heater core, a new blower motor, gasket set, cables, wire harness that goes between the controller and the blower motor but I don’t know where the power source comes into play.
@@jerrygomoll8130 sorry I cannot be much help here. The power supply runs from the fuse box to the control slides, then the switch from the control slide box go to a harness that is hidden behind the heater box. I’d recommend finding someone local that will let you look at theirs to find what you need. Good luck man!
Do you have a part number for that bracket that you replaced?
I don’t, but it was from LMC Trucks online.
My 70 C10, I have to lift up on shifter for it to start and sometimes my reverse lights are on in park. I'll have to look at all this. Thanks.
Yep, I’d start with the linkage nearest the tranny looking for slop. That is the most common area.
I've got a 67 C10 that won't shift into drive - this has given me a bunch of places to look for the issue - thank you for posting!
Absolutely! Follow the path in the video and you’ll find your problem if it with the linkage and not an internal transmission problem. Good luck!
Just bought a 70 c10 so this should be helpful! First project so making a list. Thanks.
Enjoy! Love these old trucks. What motor do you have in it?

The Manta Ray has a wider blade for more power and high angle paddling. The Sting Ray has a slender blade for less stressful, low angle paddling. Both come in 2 and 4 piece models.

Always set the parking brake.
They have a thing called a "Parking Brake" you should make sure your works as part of a vehicle inspection. IF you are not sure it works then check it asap. Otherwise you can end up in a "What not to do" RUclips video and people will make fun of you.
Why Americans are so slow to react to road incidents? The other guy had time to save the car and in all road accidents I almost never see anyone using the brakes. I mean, time is too precious to spend it like this.
The more I travel outside the US the more I'm convinced that Americans are horrible drivers in comparison.
Taking 4-6 parking spaces Karma.
That truck and trailer is in his spot, his was politely going to ask him how low he was going to be illegally parked in his spot.
The guy who got hit was an idiot. He can back up duh
They just sat there waiting to get hit🤦♀️😆
It had definite vibes of the steam roller scene from Austin Powers.
If you ever wondered how the park gear works it's called a transmission parking pawl. If you google image that you will see the problem. There not worth trusting. A little tab that wears down over time meant to hold a vehicle in place? No thank you.
@@retroguardian4802 agreed! The sad thing is that he knew it was having trouble prior and still trusted it.
Yeah this happened to me on my econoline van, but I didn't get ran over, but yeah they can jump out of park if the shift linkage isn't properly adjusted or atleast that is how mine went from P to R.

Glad you found it helpful. Practice when you get your trailer. Go to an empty parking lot and practice backing in a straight line using your mirrors. Then try to parallel park up against a painted line. Do this for both sides. This will take some of the intimidation out of it.

I agree with the new tech. involved in new rig. being frustrating. I do like newer powertrains in older rigs though, they do have advantages, but wanting power windows shouldn't mean I HAVE to get some electrical package with things I don't want and certainly don't need. You might look into an aftermarket fuel injection system and rear disk brakes... Good luck with the build...
Good points. The cold morning starts with this manual choke and gassy smell have me considering a fuel injection system already. I really want to see if this engine will be powerful enough to pull my trailer before I dump more money into it. If it’s too weak then I’ll be swapping it out for an entirely new engine anyway.
Can you provide the product info for the hood cable lock you installed, I have been looking for one for my F100 which has the same problem as the Suburban, built in a time of a larger percentage of people not being thieves

My favorite type of Chevy!.. Love the front grill and the dash for some reason.. That is a nice vehicle.. Can't wait to see how it will pull your motorhome
It's funny, I get more comments driving this thing around than I do my '66 Chevy truck
Just a tip for that steering wheel club. They were just cut the steering wheel and remove the club then drive your truck away😂 you’re better off putting a secret kill switch on the ignition someplace🤘🍻
Thanks Mike. Like every security device, if someone wants it bad enough they’ll get it. The idea is to make it difficult for the casual opportunistic thief. The club is a step in that direction. A kill switch is another step. But I’d rather them see a major hurdle like the club BEFORE they smash a window to get in only to discover it won’t start. I had a club actually prevent a theft before on a different vehicle. They broke in and tried to drill the club lock but couldn’t. Cost me about $100 to fix the break-in damage but that’s it. A smarter thief would’ve done what you suggested and cut the steering wheel. Thieves usually aren’t as smart as you or I.
Whats next? A/C and brake upgrade?
A/C is a tough one because the systems I’ve seen take up a lot of space under the dash. But honestly this is the mod my wife wants the most since we’ll be using it primarily in the summer.
Subscribed and following.
Very cool. Cant wait to see the progress
Excellent instructions, thank you saved a lot of time 😁🙏🏼
Another good method is Butter flavor PAM cooking spray. Just spray the pole with it. Same effect, they slide right down. They really seem to enjoy licking their paws clean in between climbing attempts too.
I'd absolutely drink that.

I believe cats are invasive, no? Besides, without squirrels how is my indoor cat to be entertained while looking out her window?
Cats would also go after, and scare away the birds
@@IrieFiery you are correct, I’ve seen the neighbor cat launch up and snatch a bird off this platform. It was amazing! But I mean really, there are plenty of birds here so it’s not like they’re going extinct. And even the squirrels don’t bother except when they chew my feeder!

That’s like a cross between a kayak and a paddle board the width of it is quite something
Yeah they’re pretty wide compared to others. Makes them so stable it’s almost impossible to tip them over unless you’re really trying.
At 3:04 you say the pump comes with the battery. Certainly here in the UK it doesn't, the pump and battery are sold separately, the pump is £149.99 and the battery is another £69.99 😞
You are correct. The pump and battery are sold separately, my mistake.
@@skillsmydadtaughtme880 Not a problem at all, just wanted to clarify to save others the shock I got when I saw the price of the battery and how low it's capacity is 😞
@@PedalBikerUK One battery is plenty to inflate and deflate at least 2 boats in one charge. It might even do more than that, I've just never needed more than that in one charge. I guess the next time I have a multi-day paddle trip I can not recharge it overnight and see how much it will do.
@@jasonbarker9725 That's good to know. If this pump and battery can inflate and deflate the Airvolution 2 twice over that's good going for a battery pack that will charge a phone just twice!

Hi, interesting overview, thank you for producing it, some good tips in there. I was particularly interested in the iRocker pump, shame it doesn't come with a battery! I checked it out and the pump plus battery combination comes in at £220 which seems like a lot of dough but good to be able to set the required psi. Looking in more detail at the battery pack the lithium battery capacity is just 4000mAh so only about enough stored power to charge a mobile telephone twice which again surprised me. Have you managed to fully inflate the Advanced Elements AirVolution 2 Kayak from the battery pack alone? To be honest, I'd be quite surprised if it would do it. Thanks.
Yes, in fact I’ve pumped up both chambers in 2 boats on one charge. However we usually end up manually pumping one chamber whilst the electric pump is working on the other. With a little effort you can beat the electric pump.
@@skillsmydadtaughtme880 Great. So there are just 2 chambers to inflate. From the images, it looked like there were 4 valve locations, what are the other 2 "ports" that look like valves, situated opposite?
@@PedalBikerUK correct, each boat only has 2 chambers. The other valves you're seeing are the emergency blow-off valves in case it gets over inflated.
