Blu-Grit Garage
Добавлен 18 мар 2024
At Blu-Grit Garage we are a father daughter team who mess around with our collection of clunkers and go to wicked car events.
We took our 1966 Auto-X Mustang to the 2024 "No Name Nationals".
We took our 1966 Auto-X Mustang out of its element and brought it to an 1/8th Mile Dragstrip (and Burn-Out Contest) at the 2024 "No Name Nationals". Our Thursday night Lammert's Cruise Night footage was not useable, but we got plenty of content and met many great people at the main event at Skelton Motorsports Park in Sikeston. Missouri. Come join us for our weekend of fun. #nonamenationals #ahra #scca #racecar #racecars #dragrace #autocross #gymkhana #mustang #fordmustang #funwithcars

Glad that you and Anna got to have this fun experience. Thanks for sharing
😂
Hello my friend. I think you really had a great time at No Name . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for visiting
Great Video Walter! Tell Anna Hi and we'll see you again next year 😊
Will do!
It seems like to me Ford has had more trouble with their power steering units over the years than their counterparts have had . Great tutorial 👍
The older ones with the Bendix hydraulic helper cylinders (exact same part as early Corvettes and Checker Cabs) are fun to work on also. Do not cross the lines on those. If you do, when you start the engine the steering wheel will violently spin back and forth, full travel. Ask me how I know.
@Blu_Grit_Garage that's interesting I don't think on GM you can reverse them. It's been a while since I changed going on a Ford. Actually it's been a long time since I change one on anything
I had a wagon similar to that on haggerty channel and they have factory 4-speed.
Nice. There is a RUclips Channel called Mexican Spec that has a '73 Cream Colored LTD Wagon with a 3 on the tree & no Air. Now that is a strange combination.
@Blu_Grit_Garage watch out for that guy
The cuda is great 👍 . Sounds like he said he had a small block in it and the fact that he's owned it for four decades is impressive. But I've always liked those cyclones. 🇺🇸
I do like those Cyclones also. I like the 64 & 65 Barracudas, but not the 66's. The 67's on up to 74 are nice also.
@Blu_Grit_Garage yeah I agree I've always liked the barracudas vacuum even before people began to like them
It's kind of fun going back to see your prep after the fact. I often thought a 4.6 have a crown Vic police interceptor and really make one of these little mustangs roar. Cheap way to get the horsepower and keep the weight down.
@@CAROLDDISCOVER-1983 I still like the simplicity and torque of an old fashioned pushrod engine. Working on the multiple cams and all that timing chain phaser nonsense kind of takes the fun out it for me. Plus I am not all that great with computers and fuel injection wiring. Stick a Pertronix or Chinese GM HEI one wire style Distributor in it with a carburetor and I am happy, and have a lot more money left over.
At magnetic number is a great idea 💡. I'm not sure how I missed this short but when you first got it out.
At the end of the latest returned from the No Name Nationals video (44 minutes long) the numbers are formed to match the door. They look great. Hopefully these won't blow off like the static cling ones did on the way down.
Happy halloween. I put up a few Halloween things and not much response. Scott put up a Ford ranger and it did but as good as they let me. Then at 58 Ford and they're okay 👍. All that today. I think it's creative what they did that she showed in your video
I left for work at 7:30 am and just got home at 11:15 pm. Unfortunately no time for Halloween this year. At least I got to see your Shorts.
@Blu_Grit_Garage thank you very much that makes it worth it. We volunteered for a harvest festival 🎎 at a Church. It was a lot of fun watching little kids having so much fun and thinking back. You're definitely a hard worker. I've had a couple more RUclips shorts about halloween. I'll send them to publish around 3:00 a.m. maybe midnight. Add video of somebody activities before the kids had gotten there. But unfortunately the RUclips dog 🐕aye my recording.
😂 tacos 🌮 😋 i prefer eating them
Mild, Hot, Fire 🔥,?
🤣🤣🤣⛽️⛽️⛽️⛽️
😅 Caliente!
It has to be Hot to Burn right? She calls her Tacoma "Taco" for short.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage Did you see my latest post?
😂😂. It was good to see you both!
Sounds like a blast!
It was quality time with Anna since she is out of town with work most of the time. She even got to ride down the strip a few times.
@Blu_Grit_Garage that actually sounds great 👍. It's amazing how fast the time goes by
Now time to plan for 2025
Looks like you had great fun
Another story to talk about for the next year
Older versus newer is always fun
Pontoon boats we're always fun when I was a kid.
Yes, sometimes you just have to get away.
Ranger chance to always fun
Tree sap is always a pain
Yes and having to reach to clean it off the roof is also a pain.
Trailer lights are always a nightmare
@@CAROLDDISCOVER-1983 Trailer Brakes too.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage I have panic brakes on a couple of my trailers. How to use a big enough truck just stop the trailer because a couple of my trailers don't even have brakes.
I'm glad you made it to 500 and had a fun time.
@@CAROLDDISCOVER-1983Winning the 2 Trophy’s was totally unexpected, especially since we are new at this.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage you know it does not surprise me that you want those two trophies. Because you are the kind of guy and I think your daughter is too that put your nose to the grindstone just keep going at it. I think that's probably a big reason why I jumped on your bandwagon early on. No nonsense and get it done. I don't know how well that sells in today's society but it sure is a hard quality to find. Something else about the trailer brakes and lights. I also carry these magnetic emergency lights. They run on I believe four AA batteries their LEDs they burn bright. They have a high and low setting if I remember right. Always use them on the high setting when I need to. I used to buy them at Farm and home centers and Auto Parts stores. But lately I can only find them for five times the price at truck stops. Oh I found them online turn around 15 to 20.00 a piece. They come in red and they also are available in Amber. I've actually got a couple set of electric brakes that I took off because they caused more trouble on my trailer than they actually worked. As long as I run a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton truck I've never had a problem with the trailer coming around and meeting me in a quick stop 🛑. The two trailers I have a panic brakes work really well. I've got three or four others I've just accumulated over the years. They often just sit on the farm. If you find a way to get trail lights and electric brakes to work without constantly having to work on them, you could sell that information and become a wealthy man. I don't usually give in to defeat but when it comes to trailer lights and electric brakes they just seem to have my number. Hopefully it works out where you can still put out content. I found another dump truck I like the one that your friend has. I didn't stop and look at it but it looked identical. I still be interested in your friends dump truck
@@CAROLDDISCOVER-1983 Thanks for the kind words. BTW My neighbor’s dump truck is still for sale in Affton, Missouri south of St. Louis, Mo. His Name is Mike and it is located at his business “Riddle Cabinetry” if you want to check out his site and get his Contact information.
Badass car!! The people that built that must know their sh*t!!
My old truck looks just like that. 😊 It is also white and occasionally sits under pine trees.
This is my 23 Tacoma I live and work in the Ozarks and I may have forgotten to look at the roof for a while 😂
Sweet.
Thanks, that is what the Mosquitos say. (Comment from Walter).
Outstanding community! #NoNameNationals
You got your priorities, right?😊
Funny, this one slipped by. It was made over a month ago and a date was stuck on it. I forgot all about it. Hey about the NNN. It turns out that I Broke Out on my last run, but the other guy Red Lighted so he handed me the win. I will take luck over skill any day. I ran a 10.7472 on a 10.75 dial in. I was proud of the .0123 reaction time though. Thanks for the comment.
As a comic book dork, I loved the Ironman award. Sounds like the two of you had a good event. Glad to hear it.
Nice meeting you and great video. Congratulations on those well deserved awards. I always carry a separate wiring tools and materials kit for trailer wiring so I can repair when away from home… there can be a half million reasons trailer wiring wants to give you fits… the Mice were my biggest problem this year chewing apart trailer wiring inside tongue tube were you couldn’t see it. Glad my dad taught me to troubleshoot and trailer wire!
I brought tools & wire so we were good except for me getting too close to the exhaust. All is good.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage Glad it all worked out. Loved your Mustang!
Your welcome for the subb, I subscribe to all the new channels trying for their 500, good to meet ya
We subbed to your channel when we met you in line waiting to get into the first NNN. I think you had around 10 to go to meet the 500 at the time.
I'm in Valleypark
We will have to get together sometime.
Heya Walter, nice to meet you and your daughter, I noticed you were using wood ramps and I just got some new aluminum ramps, you're welcome to my old steel ramps, I didn't red light , I broke out, went too fast
I do not see where my reply went through so if it is duplicated I am sorry. Thanks for the offer, but I use both Aluminum Ramps ant the Wood Ramps to get the Car on the Trailer because the Car is so low. The wood ramps are also handy for Oil Changes. I still have the old heavy Ramps that came with the Trailer.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage ok bud, thought I'd offer
It was a pleasure to see you guys in all the events! I enjoyed your burnout work even though you didn't throw a lot of smoke, Watching how flat the Mustang stayed was cool. Glad you made the 500 to get there! See ya next year
Thanks & it was great to see both your Impalas out there.
Great seeing yall and the car in action! And congrats on the awards, well deserved. 👍👍
Thanks for you helping us with getting the 500 Subs.
👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊👊
Thanks.
Walter and Anna, it was a pleasure seeing you and racing together. I wish I had more time to talk. Maybe I might come and watch you autocross next year. Congrats on the bracket win and Ironman trophy.
Thanks, Anna and I enjoyed hanging out with you and for being able to run with you down the strip.
Great seeing you two again! It was a blast running down the track all 5 times! Your trailer wiring bug infected my trailer on the way home. It was really annoying listening to the truck tell me the trailer wiring left the chat, butvit was pouring and I didn't feel like fixing it a second time. (A brake wire broke right before we got there, this was the second fail of the trip). Looking for forward to the horse trailer videos. We used to have a Triggs stock trailer that needed everything!
Thank, it was fun. Both times we lost ground, but it did not feel like the brakes were doing much even after getting the lights working. Anna has been pushing me on getting her Horse Trailer towable.
It is a FUN weekend, glad you got to go this year!
Yes it was! Hope to see you next year.
Is that Kenny's barracuda. I haven't seen him or that car in about 40 years
It does stand out doesn't it?
It was fun, i should have stabbed the brakes in my Avenger but i let off and broke out 3 thousandth ,😅, good to meet ya
I romped on the brakes before going thru the lights . I had a 10.75 index but was running 10.66 when testing that morning. I had no shoe polish to change the index so if the start was good I hit the brakes at the end. If I bogged or spun the tires excessively I did not hit the brakes.
Wow, Walter… you’re a time traveller!
@@johnwilburn Yeah, I am a little behind on Videos. Anna & I are not home at the same times to edit. Also I cannot math. I actually Broke-Out on my last run by .00 something, but the other guy Red Lighted. Better lucky than skilled. Thanks for a great event.
The neighbors are better than Mister Rogers neighborhood. More peppy.
Definitely more peppy. Glad you are back.
@@Blu_Grit_Garage thanks glad to be back
Do you had a good time
Was a great time. Also brought home 2 Awards. Junk Car Willy did an interview of us on his Channel. You can see the Yellow Mustang on the Thumbnail.
We also borrowed a truck to make the trip.😅
👍 👍
That’s different. Thanks for the knowledge
You two are great. You came and put on a show. I appreciate y’all showing out. I hope you make it next year
Thanks, we are planning on being there for 2025.
