How Cloth Connection Outreach Charity fills our period kits for people in need
Those are amazing. Love the fabric on the first one
Omg I need this!!
I just saw your video, ive never seen them before. What is the advantage of these pads?
These pads are nice for active people because they don't have snaps or wings to rub on thighs. You can also look through the layers to judge how saturated the layers are. With no waterproof layer they are very breathable too so great for people who tend to be warmer or live in warm weather.
Where did u get your praattten
This is a free pattern (10") in our CCO Donors group on Facebook. Other sizes are available in Teysha's Creations Etsy
thank you!!! I'm going to try to do this to both mine & my partner's boxer briefs today. I think it'll help so much ❤️
Man i pee to much lol for this
Thank you!
I like it
Thanks great video
Congratulations! You deserve it!
Thank you so much!
Lovely!
Hola Que tipo de prensatelas usas?
you can use any regular sewing foot or a walking foot. The walking foot feeds top and bottom fabrics at the same speed so makes pads turn out better imo.
Thank you for the tips.
do you accept cloth pad donations I make all in one pads with flannel and a zorb core
Hi! Yes we do! If they don't have a water resistant backer, we suggest adding more core or we usually put them in the lower absorbency bins to prevent possible leaks from too heavy flow. Zorb is a fantastic core and is what most donations are made out of <3 Thank you for considering donating to us to help end period poverty!
May ask why you cut through the layers
@AvisNel cutting through just a few of the layers on a diagonal will cause them to fray slightly and it helps crab flow and pulls it into the core fast. It's great for fast, gushy flows or large clots.
Honestly, thank you so much for this video. Ive been trying to find affordable period boxer briefs for my boyfriend with little to no luck. As soon as I saw this video, I realized I could quickly and easily make it for him myself. I truly truly appreciate it.
@@mysterylady9025 we're so happy we could help 💚
I know the video is a bit older but I was wondering if anyone had the link to the pattern for the gusset? Thanks so much for the video!!
@@mysterylady9025 it should be on our website in the resources section in the patterns.
@@clothconnectionoutreachcharityi looked but cant seem to find it there?

It's not fancy but works great!
Pour les non anglophones, les images sont trop rapides pour comprendre quoi que ce soit un peu fouillis tout ça, sans compter qu'on ne sait pas les tissus utilisés à améliorer donc merci
we apologize for the speed, this pad took almost 30 minutes to make so we speed them up so the video isn't so long. The fabric layering chart on our website may help you if you aren't sure what fabrics to use. I used cotton for most of mine & Zorb.
Hi, where do you buy the minky with the cool designs? I want to start my pad business and i cannot find any info and noone would give it to me. Tia
Joann Fabrics actually has some super cute minky fabric, but there are destash fabric group on Facebook as well
😂
What is PUL used to make waterproof?
You can use PUL on one side, the tricky part is it would now not be reversible and you'd have to make sure you know which one has the PUL in it.
“Polyurethane Laminate Fabric” or PUL is a soft, flexible, hardwearing and waterproof fabric. PUL is a laminate fabric comprised of 2 layers: a polyester fabric (typically 1mm thick) with a very thin layer of polyurethane film bonded to the reverse. I did not know either!
Unless the finished pads are going to be sanitized after the cat has been toucing the work space and the hands are clean from touching the cat, I would "not" give those pads away to the charit(ies). It's just totally disgusting. I never let my animals in my sewings room and when I do my pads, I wear clothes free of animal excess.
You are free to have your own opinion even if we don't agree with it. Everything should be washed, even new clothes, because there's lots of things that touch it in transit. This is no different. If you don't support our mission and the work we do, please feel free to leave. We want supportive people here.
Finally a keyhole gusher pad. Great job!👏🏼
Thank you. 💚 happy we could help.
What pattern are you using?
It's one in the Cloth Connection Outreach Donors group on Facebook. It's 14" long 3" wide.
Amazing tutorial, thank you! Your pin cushion lady is adorable!! 😍
Thank you! 🥰 I inherited it from my husband's crafty grandmother.
Please what is zorb
It is a man made material that is very thirsty. It is made by Wazoodle (only buy from their site). It feels like felt but is meant to absorb a lot! Very easy to work with.
Not that long ago, my church did a pad and tampon drive because some kids in a nearby town did not have that money to buy them. And when they're on their period, they would stay home because they could not afford to buy pads. The turnout was big and many people donated a lot. But then we got word they ran out and needed more. But I've been thinking if they knew how to make cloth pads they would last for at least 3 years. But I'm too ashamed to tell my church this. What should I do?
you could always send them a link that explains how cloth pads help end period poverty. They're a long term solution. Options are always good. Sending a link may take the stress off you but someone has to start the change. it could be you <3
Sooo amazing!!!!
Do you take donations? I have a box of cloth pads and accessories - newly bought or newly sewn and never used. I do not have space for them because my stash has gotten obsurd over the years but my moral compass won’t allow me to throw them away! There’s nothing wrong with them… my sewing has gotten better and half of them are from my first year of sewing… the other half are from etsy makers that I took a chance on.
Hi! Yes we do take donations! We send out thousands of cloth pads each year so every donation helps. Our donation address is on our website or email us and we can send it info@clothconnectionoutreach.org thank you for considering donating to CCO to help people in need! (If you need a receipt for your donation, just leave a note in the box with an email address and we'd be happy to send a receipt)
Great! I’m happy to hear that… I’ll head right over and get the information. Thank you for the work you’re doing!@@clothconnectionoutreachcharity
How do your pads work for incontinence ?
Cloth pads are great for incontinence. Liners for little sneeze pees, then moderate for more loss, and heavy for heavy bladder loss. Look for quick wicking toppers like pique, AWJ or velour and a PUL back for extra wetness protection.
So you're basically wearing 2 pads, would that make it bulkier?
Not much imo because there's no fuzzy fleece back to them. They're trimmer because fabric is spread out into 2 layers.
Depends on how you make them. I have made mine with two H shaped pieces of flannel, which gives me a light absorbancy pad with 4 layers of flannel. Add a layer of fleece to one side and that makes it a regular for me. Put one more layer of flannel in each side and that's a heavy
How to order I want stitched pads.
Hello! We have an Etsy "PADSbyCCO" is our shop name.
Il y a beaucoup de couture alors qu on peut en faire beaucoup moins
The gusher style is worth the extra work. They're amazing pads.
I love flannel, it feels so nice. I even prefer it over cotten or jersey. Great tips.
Do you sell the pattern as well?
We do! They are available on our Etsy "PADSbyCCO"

I want to try to start sewing cloth pads to sell. Is there a cheaper alternative to zorb?
Zorb is the best. It's the standard. You're going to have to put the cost into ur price like everyone else 🤷🏻♀️
Flannel is probably the cheapest option. But the market is so saturated with makers, buyers are wanting more high end fabrics. If you're selling budget friendly pads it may be a good market for flannel core.
I want to start making cloth pads to try to sell them. Is there a cheaper alternative to zorb?
Perfect just what I needed to see. Thankyou❤
Hi, I am starting to teach how to make reusable pads in deprived areas of Pakistan. I need some support how to make them. Which filling should be use to make them leak proof. Please can I contact with u
Hello, we love hearing about people sharing the cloth love! On our website, there's a link to our Fabric Layering Chart that shows all 3 layers you can use for pads. There are free patterns on there also.
And how are these pads supposed to stay in place? I personally don't think that bubbly minky would be very comfortable.
You can't feel the bubbles, but you can iron them out if you don't like it (before you sew the pad). They wrap around your underwear, so stay in place great.
So when you're sitting on the toilet, place the pad behind the gusset of your underwear, then place one side over the inside of the underwear, then place the other half over the top of the first half. Stays in place pretty well, and I find this style to be THE most comfy to wear.
What are the benefits of an exposed core?
Exposed core pads sit a little higher so make a better connection to your body, & helps prevent leaks off the pad especially by the wings of the pad.
I really love th H-shaped pads! I like to make them for donations that i send with pur missions trips that way there are no snaps that may stop working
Do you wear them? I always wonder if people wear these. I never see anybody saying they wear them and love them
@user-um7tw6kx4r6 I DO wear them! I modified my original straight H shaped pattern to make a more asymmetrical/front bleeder style and I have to say, I love how comfy they are! I do not wear tight leggings or dresses or skirts...I mention this because these are wider pads and might be uncomfortable/visible if you wear skin tight clothes. I'm a heavy center bleeder and need a 3 or 3.5 inch wide gusset, and this style I find to be the best for that. I love how simple they are. I do make the AIO style snap pads too, but I like how simple the h shaped pads are to make. Not extra supplies needed! I have about 7 or 8 hours shaped in my own stash 😊 hope that helps.
Exposed core feel more structured to me. Thank you for the video.
OOF thank you. I didn't realize #3😮
If you have any questions about our volunteer & donation run non-profit, feel free to ask! I could talk about it all day long... in fact, I do! 💚
thank you for watching! give us a thumbs up to help out our nonprofit!
thank you for watching. We hope this helps some people out who wanted a quicker/ easier way to sew pads.
Hola, moldes por favor??
If you're asking about patterns to make cloth pads, we have some on our website clothconnectionoutreach.org
Curious as to why you wouldn't trace your sew line on the floating layer. It's easier to get the core centered imo.
