Fix Brake Booster Issues on BMW E53 X5 | Complete DIY Repair Tutorial for Better Braking Performance
In this video, I share my experience tackling a frustrating brake issue on my 2005 BMW E53 X5. After noticing that the brakes felt hard and unresponsive, I decided to dig into it and try to fix it myself. It wasn’t easy-lots of trial and error, a few unexpected setbacks, and plenty of learning along the way. I’m not a professional mechanic, but I hope sharing my process, including the mistakes and lessons learned, helps other BMW owners who might be dealing with similar issues. Thanks for joining me on this journey, and feel free to share your own experiences or advice in the comments!

Yes we did! Actually it was required when I did the air suspension, because the air suspension code will not clear unless you recalibrate the maintenance code for the transfer case. @@freddieruger1 The suspension code will not reset if you have a pending code on the transfer case or the transmission. To clear any pending codes on the transfer case, or the transmission, you will need a scanner that does BMW specific functions. Either ISTA or INPA should be able to clear the codes for you. If you can’t access a scanner, you either have to go to an Independent shop that has one or BMW themselves. There is no easy answer.

When you change the oil in transfer case on BMW you should do the recalibration. I did it with ISTA+ (Rheingold software). I am not sure if any other software can do it. If you dont have it just go to a BMW dealer and tel them to do that. If you just keep on doing oil changes without reset, eventually you will get an error stored in the car which will not be removed after clearing all errors. You have to do the recalibration. Process is about 10-20 seconds.
