ONE of the few times Jess Walton did a good job. I have to say this is pretty darn good. I wonder if this storyline is part of the reason after 6 years that Brenda Epperson left the role of Ashley. I also think this scene could have been even more powerful if Dina, her real mother, came upon her in this state instead of Jill. After all, Dina was partially responsible for Ashley 's problems from what happened 10 years earlier.

So sad that we’ll never hear the real background music again.

I love this scene from 1987! At that time I was 25 years old and living in Ontario, California. Jess Walton did some really good acting portraying Jill. She kinda looked like Jill and even sounded like her. Jess is a good actress however, Brenda Dickson was the best Jill. Deborah Adair was also great as Jill too.

I just realized: the instrumental during Jill's fantasy is a cover of the old song "We're In The Money."

That background music at the end is beautifully orchestrated and should be available on a cd with all the other outstanding background orchestrations. I'm not talking about the soundtrack albums, just these background scene pieces specifically. Touching

Oh, so they did show Sheila's family. And she's always been difficult.... I always thought they should do a deep dive into Sheila and her past.

Absolutely love this Diane, I wish she would come back. The current Diane is okay but this one always brought serious fire to the role, her classic cat fights with Nikki, Phyllis and Patty (Andrea Evans, who went on to portray Rebecca in Passions) were legendary.

Loved Grace, she was treated like the town tart but she was unapologetic. There was no need to have Phyllis on the show with Grace around.

Brenda nailed this scene. I started watching when Jess took over the role, and while I like Jess, who I believe is the better actress of the two, she tended to bark her lines at times. Brenda underplayed it here which was great.
