On Tonka yesterday afternoon. Found lots of big ‘gills in 12-25 feet. Could not find any crappies for a meal. The hunt continues. Shallower I went the more “bitey” they were. Appears that I can look even shallower for crappie!

Hi Matt, thanks so much for these update videos. I wait for them every week and they’re super informational and helpful. I’m sold on fishing the weeds and have had some exceptional outings right in the middle of the day. Thanks for your encouragement. It’s really helped me. I’ve come to realize that ought not all weeds are created equal.. I’ve noticed the fish seem to be in the heavier weeds higher off the bottom. Do you find that to be true? What are your thoughts on weed variety, height and density?

Hi Matt, thanks for the report as always. Any tips for fishing crappies on some of the largest bays on Minnetonka after dark? I’ve done a lot of searching and rarely even mark more than a few fish per night. Guessing I’m just looking too deep most of the time or not giving the shallow weeds much of a chance when I do that? Usually give it 15 min and not seeing fish I move on. Any info would be great. TIA

Actually the 28 PV ducer changes it's cone shape or width with the gain knob, yes also more power than can introduce noise, but gain on 1 is a very narrow cone where more gain is a wide cone

Blessed to live 15 minutes from the lake. My favorite, most productive, most utterly befuddling at times body of water in the metro. The chance at a trophy in more than a half dozen species on any given day makes Minnetonka a true metro gem.

Been at JP's fish houses 3 times over the past 6 years...wanted to go this year but couldn't make it. JP's the best and hope to get back next year! Wife even enjoyed it...but she was a little nervous at night with the ice cracking even though we explained that was a good thing in that it was getting thicker!
