Yes - we hire an electric/diesel hot water pressure washer from Kennards. In our opinion, hot water (about 120 degrees) is the most effective way. Seen way too many school campuses where the school cleaners have killed the concrete with cold water machines.

Hi Tom, we definitely use a few of NQCAS's products, including Goop. We find their products as good as any available in Australia. I am aware that Chris is a big advocate for his .5% for housewashing, etc, which seems to work for him and his conditions in far north qld. Most of the house washing we do on the Gold Coast is about 2% SH with a good dose of Goop and another surfactant. All our softwashing is done through a dosing control station, in lieu of batch mixing (The soap/surfactant doesn't mix with the SH until application).

@@highpressurecleaninggoldcoast thanks for the great advice. Bummer that we can’t use the much lower concentration of SH. Do you have some recommendations on the second surfactant? Is a second surfactant necessary? And how much of each would you use for a given amount of solution?

@@tomhocking5606 Our house wash soap mix consists of Goop, BBC (also from Chris Dix) and a dash of Sprintwash from Sprintjett here on the Gold Coast. Each has its own benefits. Goop has a lemon scent to mask the sh smell, as well as being a soap; BBC acts a degreasing agent and also is great on windows; and Sprintwash adds that little extra soap for maximum grip.

When quoting, you really need to have a close look at the state of the tile you are being asked to clean. Running a surface cleaner over tiles that are already flaking paint is going to result in the customer having to do a full roof restoration and repaint. Sometimes the mould between the tile channels is that thick, softwashing isn't an option as pressure will be required.

Our house wash mix consists of Lemongrass Wash from Softwash NQ, Sprintjett Cling On Soap, and HDC2 (also from Sprintjett). The Lemongrass has a great fragrance to mask the SH, Cling On has great stick, and HDC2 is fantastic on windows

This floor cleaner is a cheap 20 inch no brand one we purchased when we first started. Cost about $700 in total. Served its purpose but couldn’t replace some parts and eventually became a throw away. Would recommend buying a brand name floor cleaner for that reason - mosmatic are brilliant

We use a no-name brand oxalic acid - we buy 20L drums from a local chemical company. There are brand name alternatives - CLR, Spitser, Diggers Rust Remover, etc, but at the end of the day, they are just oxalic acid at a higher price. Make sure you buy the liquid and not the powder. Also, thoroughly rinse your pump garden sprayer as the acid will eat the seals quickly

For the nursery cleans, we use 2x 21lpm pressure washers with 30 inch surface cleaners, and 1x 15lpm pressure washer

The black mould was pretty stubborn, requiring a 5%sh mix. The majority of the house wash though was hit with a 2% mix

We normally post-treat the nursery department floors with a sodium hypochlorite mix, just to eliminate any tannings stains and green mould stains. The carparks are hit with a pre-treatment of degreasing agent, HDC, to assist with the bbq grease removal.
