I drive Uber, I have 2022 Camry hybrid, I replaced the front hub bearings I stripped the thread of my cv axles, both of them lol. So I took it to mechanic, he put new axle on the passenger side, but the driver side he only rethreaded. The clunk noise is coming from the driver side that rethread has been done. Now I have no idea if it needs new axle or like someone else issues was a nut or bolt that needed to be tightened for mount. My issue is clunking when I apply on brake and accelerate sometimes when turning.
Had to bring mine to toyota. No other mechanics would fix it for me. Thank god i had a warrenty still. 987$ part came out to only 100. Sheesh. Still love my corolla though
I have clacking noise like this when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I also have vibrations when accelerating on about 20-30km/h. So my friend who is mechanic checked it out, and both left and right inner cv joints have a bit of play in them. So yeah, I'm replacing that soon.
How many million miles? Is the differential spyder gears PIN in the differential case a super sloppy fit? Of course you would have to take it all apart to know for sure. I dont see any external movement in the video. The ' clunking movement ' must be internal.
For anyone asking: I sold the car not long after making this video, for fear of transmission failure. I was never able to figure out what the problem was, however my mind always goes back to the aftermarket axles. If you can, do NOT get aftermarket CV axles for Hondas, as these cheap Chinese manufacturers can never get it right for some reason. You’re better off going to a scrap yard and getting an OEM one, or sending yours to Raxles and having it rebuilt.
I just had a look at my sisters 2012 malibu today. The front motor mount was shot and caused the bearing inside the transmission to wear because of the axle being in a bind. For some stupid unkown reason, my left engine mount was loose, and not by much, just 3/4 a turn on one nut on the engine side. After tightening, noise is gone.
