A heavy duty filter wrench and a 17’ Breaker bar and that filter is coming off or coming off !!

Somebody tightened with a wrench , Should never do that

You should be grabbing the filter as close as possible to the top. Genius.

Cut off the shell. Pull out the filter material and you can make or buy the tool that fits right into the flow holes and it will come off.

Use chann. El locks for the top portion and hold on tight and try to turn

Big channel locks. Grip it right at the top. Or an air chisel on the upper most part. Bout a 60 degree angle, not too sharp of a chisel bit. It will force it to turn just like when removing a big fan clutch.

You can do it with skill and knowledge... Knowledge that someone else has done this and the skill to find out how

Cut off the casing of the filter. Don't put filters on that tight

I have an old steel shank screwdriver that is sharpened to a point. Drive it into the filter just below the 1/3 mark Down. It will separate it sometimes. Then take a chisel to what remains.

Buy a new filter housing

Get out the ol fire-wrench. Can’t be stuck if it’s liquid

Cut it open or screwdriver all the way thru like a T-handle. If you know how long the flange is you can go close to it for the most torque.

What I do to get off a stubborn filter. Put your wrench close to the top. Pull hard but not hard enough to collapse the filter and hold on. It will move very slow at first.

Chain wrench at the top close to threads as you can. I deal with it all the time. You might use muscle you never knew you had

Use a filter pliers to grip it at the roll on the top of the can, if done right it will loosen the threaded portion and you can remove it, I've encountered this before, it's difficult but can be done

You should be able to unbolt it once you tear everything away from it righteous people turn the center of it once you get the outside off of it I done it with a Ford one time and I'll try to be different but whatever

Oh, it’ll come off. The easy way… or the hard way. It’s coming off.

Use a dull chisel on the outer edge of the lip, that will crimp it back to the insert, then will turn! I have faced that problem many times. If you have access to air hammer, it works wonders!

"That's a problem, right?" Understatement of the year there. Does the flange that it's intended to screw onto detach from the block? Otherwise, you're basically hosed.

Replace the assembly. Also, a trick you can try before putting a hole in it. While the system is under pressure, break the torque on the filter.

Tear it off then worry about the screw portion

Cut it. You will probably have to cut it off of the threads too.

I imagine you would need to cut off the cover until you can get the element directly.
