Worked nicely. For those who try this, makesure you provide 777 permission to the share on server 1 otherwise you will run into issues.... I struggled as it didn't have full permission initially but later it resolved.

When we do not make a change to /etc/hosts file, can we simply use the ip address for /etc/exports client_ip on server1 and on server2 /etc/fstab share_server:ip_server1 share_server2 ?

I do not see a link to /etc/hosts file in your description. Can you please share the video? Also, for home environment, if DNS server is not configured, should this still work? I am not able to ssh into the machine using hostname but I guess thats a different issue as I do not have a dedicated DNS server at home.

To complete this process, I'd like to add one more command after editing /etc/fstab file to sure that there is no error: "findmnt --verify"

You can use the same method to dual boot even if you have one physical drive, just free up space in the same drive, and don't create any partition on the free space, and create these drives/mount them during the setup as shows, and you will still have the dual boot.

This finds the directories owned by, not the files. I think you need -type f here.

How is /dev/vdb always empty for all of your examples? I am guessing the extra disk will have to be used for multiple questions and that means some parts / partitions will be used by other answers.

I did vi /etc/sysctl.d/98-ipv4-ip_forwarding.conf and added net.ipv4.ip_forward=1. Then did echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward and sysctl -p returns nothing! To me this mean sysctl -p isn’t a reliable way to see if routing is on. cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward is though. FYI. Using the drop-in directories is the recommended solution, but maybe I did something wrong? It works after a reboot though.

You erased the disk of all partitions. Don’t previous disk questions have to remain? Why not mount /dev/vg/lv /database ; grep database /etc/mtab >> /etc/fstab ; cat /etc/fstab

Where is the epel repo defined that showed up in the list after doing yum clean all? You only have 2 repos defined.

Thanks, but where is file state stored for this? I hate the way modern Linux is moving away from file based config. You are using tui and command line scripts and presumably have no idea what it is doing under the hood? Where is this state stored and can we edit it? God, I hate network manager

How do I mount the Home Directories that I share with nfs to their users on the ipa server. No matter which server the user logs in from, always mount the home directory shared with nfs to the user's user.
