Useless video
Run that mouth too much. Show the soinoid already.
IVE HAD OVER 150 BIKES AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE .. HANDLING , GAS MILEAGE OVER 70 MPG, MAINTENANCE, AND SEAT HEIGHT
Fantastic! I recently started riding a CTX700, and this video addresses the mods I was starting to check into. Many thanks!!!
Thanks. Very helpful. I am also planning to change my foot pegs on the CTX.
Practically every other car manufacturer puts in a way to bypass the shift lock solenoid in case the car has to be towed but not GM this is one of the many reasons why I never have and never will own a GM product
Brand: 4into1 Vintage Honda Rectangular Motorcycle Rear Passenger Folding Foot Pegs - Compatible with Honda Description from Amazon. These seem to be the ones he put on or similar?🤔
Having that happen now shop has had for 3 days and part dont work
I JUST BY PASSED THE SERVO
I have same issue and had new trans put in for 3000 which apparently was bad too burnt up
How can you move the shifter if it’s stuck in park??
you can remove the plastic. This is very easy. Remove the rubber box in front of the shifter Then remove the grey plastic under the rubber box Then you have access to the shifter There is a thin 2 wire connector to the left. Make sure the connection is tight and check all other connections in there. Then start the car and move the shifter. This fixed it for me. After you secure all connection lube any movable parts. If you want to remove the big surround around the shifter remove the chrome plastic then pull the black plastic surround from the back and remove the 2 bolts.
Awesome, helpful video. Have been stuck in park couple time in my 2011.... Got stuck again today trying pull out job....located that censor fuse thing under dash, steering wheel, popped it out and back in.....took bout 3 seconds and voila! I was Rollin again
Our Chevy HHR 2011 won't go forward/drive any suggestions?
I thought it was stuck in park ?
??????
I have never seen anyone attach a windshield to a windshield like that. Good idea.
the standard one was not high enough
Great Job Mr. Ed...you really got the Blues!
Just zip tie the lever back that blocks the shifter rod under the shifter and you'll never have a problem. Did it to my Cobalt. Just be careful because you will be able to shift the car into any position with out the ignition key.😉
good solution
I just ran into this do you got pull the whole shifter to get to the servo ?
ITS BEEN A WHILE BUT I DONT REMEMBER HAVING TO REMOVE IT ALL..................JUST ENOUGH TO GET TO THOSE PARTS THAT NEED CLANING OR LUBING..AS ABOVE MENTIONED...
I found a set on Amazon. Made by ONETEN, Part FB-05-B
Where did you get the pegs? The ones I found local have 3/8 bolts. The bolts that are in there now are 8mm. Several have asked, but you have not said what or where you got yours.
I GOT MINE FROM DIXIE DISTRIBUTNG IN OHIO BUT THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINESS NOW . BY THE WAY A 3/8 DIAMETER HOLE IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO USE FOR A 8 MM. BOLT.
Hi AIRMAN BEAR, This is AWESOME! I have the same quick question regarding the foot peg. Can you recommend a brand, style, or particular peg?
ANY ONE GENERIC
Thanks a bunch, @@AIRMANBEAR! I've been riding for 30 years, had 3 wrist surgeries, but am only 5'3". So this is a great solution to keep me on the road.
I also want to add footpegs in the upright (standard) position. What did you use - or what term should I Google to find them?
where did you buy those pegs from?
ANY CYCLE SHOP
I have same bike, with those rear pegs does your foot find the brake pedal easily when you need to stop? I'd love to give my lower back a break now and then , but I wouldn't want to wreck by missing the brake pedal
YOU CAN HAVE EVERYTHING
ALSO NOW ADDED ONE INCH WIDE RUBBER BUMPER SELF STICK STRIPS TO SIDES OF FAIRING TO PREVENT ANY DAMAGE TO PLASTIC..
Reboot the system, disconnect the battery for a few seconds,it worked for me!!
Is that a servo or a solenoid? What did you use to clean it with? Did you have to disconnect the battery? Thanks.
ANY SOAPY CLEANER
@@AIRMANBEAR I DON'T THINK SO!
@@MrJohnnyDistortion... thats what i did..
@@AIRMANBEAR I simply zip tied the armature so that I can shift even without the key. Problem solved.
As Alyse Campbell posted correctly: "GM will fix this shifter issue at no cost. Regardless of ownership and mileage, up to 15 years from manufactured date. GM service bulletin / Special service # 14632 covers parts and labor. And reimbursement for past repairs" Thank you Alyse Campbell! I contacted a service advisor (Randy) at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX and he confirmed the service bulletin you provided and he said they would pick up the cost of repairs if in fact is the shifter assembly problem. He did point out that the brake switch or the switch under steering wheel are not covered by them. It would be a good Idea for people to first troubleshoot the brake switch since it's the cheapest part and super easy to replace. If shifter still getting stuck then have GM / Chevrolet fix the issue.
Info please
Our advisor from the GM dealership quoted us a few grand in repairs. No offer to cover cost & no word on a bulletin.
Thanks Airman bear! I spilled some coffee over the shifter and it locked up. I followed your instructions and it works better than before.
AUBREY IS GOING PLACES WITH HER MUSIC
Did the same thing, using an Iron Tub and a Yamaha 80, when I was a kid.
that's not helpful at all... How are you supposed to remove the plastic when you can't move the shift lever???
Dave Welsh you can remove the plastic.
YES IT IS HELPFUL.
post a video of the test ride. I'd love to see it.
ok
Thank you so much for the video. So much better than a picture and some words.
I gotcha. Thanks for the reply.
I'm confused, if I can't move the shifter how can I remove the shifter surround?
IF YOU LUCKY YOU CAN LIFT THE PLASTIC AROUND THE SHIFT LEVER FAR ENOUGH SO YOU CAN GET IN TO MOVE THE SWITCH .. SOME WD40 WILL HELP .... YOU CAN ALSO BYPASS THE SWITCH AT THE BRAKE LEVER IN CASE THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM .. IN THIS CASE I WAS LUCKY AND IT CAME OUT OF PARK SPORATICALLY. ONLY WHEN IT CAME UNSTUCK WAS I ABLE TO GET IN THERE..
WABASH INDIANA!! THURSDAY NITE 1-22-15 ROCK ON WABASH!!!
The Above Is True, And Let Us Add , If there Low Or No Power, electroic release , Which works Thur the Brakes , If No Brake Lights, is sign too.
COUNTRY
FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS ABOVE ... TO LOOSEN THE SERVO .CHECK IT BY HITTING THE BRAKE AND SEE IF THE SERVO IS MOVING WITH THE KEY ON.... IF NOT IT WONT COME OUT OF PARK.. YOUR BRAKE SWITCH OR THE CONNECTORS OR THE SERVO MAY BE THE PROBLEM..
Moron, The shifter doen't move out of Park.
EXACTLY .. If I could put in reverse I wouldn't be here LOL
READ ABOVE REPLY TO SHANNON POSEY
You can take a pencil or a screw driver and push the lever towards the front of the car NOT TO HARD but just enough to move the shifter, be careful put your foot on the brake pedal so that the car doesn’t move or better yet chalk your wheels put some rocks or bricks in front and in the name of the wheels to prevent your car from moving
Idiot
Great blues..nuff said..
