Walking Workout - Standing on the High Point of the Hip
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.21 день назад
In the video, Kasia demonstrates the difference between standing well-supported, on the top of the hip joint, and translating the pelvis excessively to one side. Sometimes we call this movement strategy "jotting out the hip," "sashaying," or "hanging or sitting on the hip." The problem with such movement is that it lowers the center of mass and, therefore, lowers the potential energy of our bod...

The Dangers of Over-Breathing: Why Slower Breathing is Better for Your Health #breathing
Просмотров 401Месяц назад
In this video, Marek explains the importance of maintaining sufficient CO2 saturation for proper gas exchange. When we over-breathe-taking more than 15 breaths per minute, breathing through the mouth, or taking in too much air-it paradoxically does not translate into more oxygen reaching your brain and body. On the contrary, the depletion of CO2 from the body inhibits gas exchange and leads to ...

Hamstrings Unlocked: Feldenkrais Lesson - Hamstring Lengthening in Standing
Thank you ever so much for this informative and supportive lesson. It provided me with a much better understanding of my pelvis and hip joint and a more gentle understanding of using the Feldencrias clock. It was a lovely gift to receive.
Great advice. Thank you!
I do meditation by Dr Joe Dispenza, "Breaking the habit of being yourself"✌️
Brillant. Thank you Marek❤
I’m age 60 and was treated with corrective shoes and a bar in the 60s. My left hip still has hip externally rotated. It causes trouble because I have leg length discrepancy. But I’m pretty sure it’s just tightness of all those ligaments.after all these yrs it’s too stuck in its old ways so to speak. Plus 36 yrs of nursing didn’t help.
An enjoyable lesson with lots of changes in movement. I love the calm, relaxing way your teach. I am learning a lot from you and practicing these movements daily. Thank you for presenting these videos for all of us to learn from.
excellent teaching of a fundamental lesson! Thank you!
Hello, is there a lesson for the upper thoracic and cervicals?.✌️

What about fibromyalgia which isn't pain coming from movement but from the brain having had trauma? ALL women I know who have fibromyalgia, have had childhood trauma.
Thank you
You're welcome
Very good and informational, but, i need to feel too, helping awareness as the touch can help the brain to encourage my brain to gain awareness.
Absolutely! Nothing like the first hand experience. If you ever have a chance to experience the one-on-one Feldenkrais lesson with a practitioner, we would highly recommend. Good luck on your path!
@@FeldenkraisNYC why Feldenkreis ?
Brilliant presentation. I learned a lot. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
My knees never fully extend😢
i read this one recently and in patients who breathed less had fewer ailments
Without breathing we are dead within minutes. So why not do it properly? Thank you! 😊
I love your videos. But-wear gloves! Your Fendelkrais videos have reduced pain 90% less intense (intensity) 80% less of the time (duration)
I wonder how much much of this applies to hearing loss. I truly believe mine is due to noise in the brain and being on high alert most of my life. And I wonder if wearing hearing devices all the time impede the ability to bring the hearing back. I'm hopeful. BTW you are a very lovely man and I follow you all the time. Thank you !
But what is the basic how to breath? Breathe in by the nose and breathe out by the mouth, right ?
If activity is not vigorous, I would recommend breathing in and out through your nose. Nose breathing helps to filter, warm up the incoming air, strengthen your diaphragm, improves oxygen/carbon dioxide exchange. There is alos nitric oxide that is produced by inhaling through your nose, which helps with delivery of nutrients to the tissues of your body and taking the waste products. Thank you for your question.
Omg this saved my foot pain, I had a foot fracture and so many complications with tendon pain, ankle pain, strains, bottom of foot pain on both feet, sometimes the foot pain comes and goes so I thought it might be posture and the way I walk... I think I haven't been moving my hips/pelvis when I walk, after I trying this ,I have no pain on my foot when I walk!! the movement is rather clunky and I forget how to walk if I don't use my arms as an arrow ..
also mentioned by sahrmann in movement impairment syndrome
Dr. Shirley Sahrmann's work is brilliant. I had a privilege of studying with her in the 90's. Super important content. Thank you for mentioning her name.
Feldenkrais is the bomb!!! I love doing it. I love knowing it and I love hearing about it. If I were younger I'd def become a Feldenkrais practitioner.
Nothing relaxes with fibromyalgia. No thing.
I would love you to do a course for fibromyalgia!!
For me knowledge is power. I always have to know why I'm doing what I'm doing or I won't do it. So this is a great idea for me.
For the lying down lessons, is it really ok to do them on a soft bed? The floor hurts and I know I get cranky and don't learn from the lesson after a while.
Clearly this gentleman cares about what he's teaching. We need more people in the world like him.
I recently had an accident andhad a hip replacement on my right hip. I suspect that the bunion on my right foot was partially responsible for the lack of give in my system when I fell. I also had a miraculous recovery due to all the Feldy lessons I have been doing for feet, knees, hips, breathing, you name it. I am so grateful. Right now I am enjoying doing this lesson before going for a walk to try to be aware of the knee rolling in- the heell rolling out. I tried to exaggerate it with the knee out and heel in which produced a surprising result! I began to assume the classic 'mime walk' which of course is an exaggeration of the correct way of walking! Thanks so much for these lessons. I am also a fan!😊
Very clear and sane. Also the video is very clear (I have hearing loss so that really matters when I’m lying down especially ).
Yeah worked instantly Jesus
Great. Nothing makes me happier than people's progress. Cheers!
When I walk, my pelvis and spine sway and move a lot. What is the reason for Ali’s response: I am tired or have I been leaving the house for a year? 😢😢😢
Thank you so much for this generous offering. I have listened to all 6 installments and am hungry for more. I wonder if what makes good posture aesthetically pleasing is that you can somehow "see" the ease and comfort the person feels in their body, and that's appealing.
Kindly explain differentiation. I want to understand it. Thank you.
Differentiation is when there is freedom of movement/freedom to choose to move one part of the body or a bone relative to another., Undifferentiated movement is when both parts are moving together like one piece. For example you can turn the head and eyes in a fixed (undifferentiated way) like a submarine's periscope, or you can differentiate movements of the eyes and head - move eyes first, move head first, move eyes and head in opposition, etc. I hop this explanation helped.
@@FeldenkraisNYC Thank you for this very thorough explanation of differentiation. I appreciated you bringing this together for me.
great lesson and such a nice way to prepare for anything!
It really is! Thank you, Darlene.
Great video! Instant relief 😊
Glad it helped!
Interesting idea and lesson. Is it compatible also with hemiparesis ?

Very nice class. Easy, Comfortable, Informative, and Effective.
Glad you liked it! Many thanks for your comment.
Thank you for this very helpful
Thank you, so much learning in how you deliver and inform the information. I am delighted to see you finished with such a restorative pose. I often do this because of my yoga back round, but somehow it helps that you confirmed doing so :) We would rest in the pose for up to 10 min, warm and quiet. Myy hips feel amazing and I even broke the lesson up into two days. Thank you!, dar
I can see how the Polyvagal Theory comes alive. The only reason I have personally been able to move, integrate and feel accepted here in NYC is through feeling safe and connected. I can be who I want to be...within reason of course
Top! Good cooker!
Top! So good as a baby!
Doctor,. I need your advice. I have pain, weakness, and burning sensation in both Arms. I got my Xray done and I have bilateral cervical Ribs, I am 42 years old. I was totally fine, until 8 months ago I had L5, S1 disk herniation then one month after it I had dengue fever I became very weak and lost 10 KG weight at the time my hands and arms started feeling pain. Now I am going to MRI of cervical , my xray already showing bilateral ribs. How can i determine the cause whether pain is due to cervical disk herniation or bilateral ribs. Please advise
I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I recommend you consult with a physiatrist. Cervical ribs can contribute to thoracic outlet syndrome. There are tests that can help differentiate.
Wonderful!!!
outstanding! thank you
Thank you! Shorts video for feldenkrais is perfect
Love that project
