I was so captivated by this show that when this scene happened, I just started crying a lot. This scene broke my brain. This is unmitigated creativity.
Imagine the magnitudes of immortality you’d have in comparison to this little fella, could he understand such a thing. Here’s here not even alive for five minutes, but yet the sheer scale of making a human as being nine months- literally unthinkable. What’s an hour? A day? A year to such a short lived thing? By the time you’d explained what our sense of time scale even means to it- it’d already be dead. You, as some unfathomable thing, merely observe the totality of its being with a sense of time and space literally beyond its comprehension. Briefly, you are the cosmic horror dwelling in forces beyond its world, merely watching, but with thoughts, ideas, and plans far beyond its tiny, mere short life.
imarging a complexspidr web getting comple destroied because something twalk though it & killed an other spider who built millions of complete webs It had all the meaning &pointless at the same time
Ursula was there for that alien’s entire life. From his point of view, she must’ve been like the moon or stars are for us. Maybe that’s why her character’s name is the same as two constellations.
I can't believe I was the only one who was pissing myself laughing at this scene the whole way through. Seriously, as soon as I thought Id finished laughing it would just get more absurd.
What was the purpose of the scene??? It didn't add anything to the plot or to her character. Like every complicated and mystery show, they ruined it simplifying everything at the end with a monster fight 👎🏿
As someone who clicked mystery link on exurbias channel and has absolutely no context whatsoever I was 90% sure he was going to fuck that root because it looks like a fleshlight when it opened up.
The part where it's dying. She breathes with it; the entire plant breathes with it; the whole world breathes with it. Then it's over and it is tenderly buried and re-absorbed.
At the time, I was more on her side but when looking back, Sam was right. Yeah why would you do that when you’re seconds from veing crush to death? Cool visual concept though.
one can die at any moment. Ursula decided to be curious and enjoy the little she had. doesn't matter what she chooses, eventually she'll die, and so will everyone else. so she chooses to let go of the worries at least at that moment.
I think that this is the most amazing scene ever, made more mysterious by a quote earlier in the episode: 'I think we can't help the instinct to give meaning to things we don't understand.' She said that and then immediately witnesses this. Such a cool and wholesome scene. Thank you for sharing it!
Started watching this with my mom, and when we got to this scene we both sat in stunned silence. Do I fully understand what’s happening? No. Is it gorgeous anyway? Yes.
I don’t even know what this show is where it’s from, but just watching this clip has me filled with a determination to keep going, to live my life with purpose, just like that creature did. Rock on little dude.
It’s like the plant was waiting for her. Like it needed a witness to bloom… someone who could appreciate the beauty of the process and thereby bring life to it. I wouldn’t have thought that except for when the little creature looks back at her. It’s almost like they’re checking to see if she’s paying attention.
I agree with some others here. This is the point where I really sat up and realised how great this show is. Pure Moebius in its weird aesthetic. This scene also conveyed the thought that the planet was trying to talk to the humans but it was just so alien. A Great and satisfying ending too. I really hope they do a season 2 but I suspect it left a lot of critics cold. Film and animation critics generally hate sci fi.
This is one of the best depictions of a psychedelic experience I've ever seen! It has that awe-inspiring, mind-blowing quality, yet it still makes perfect sense.
I just finished watching this show & it was amazming. I pretty much binged watched the entire show in a few days bc I was that hooked & it was that good...I really hope we get a second season and by the end of the last episode it seems they were setting it up for that... But dam I do have a lot of questions about the things that happened in this show...so many unexplained things!!
wow. what in the holy fuck. I'm watching this completely bereft of context because I've literally never heard of this show until just now, and yet I'm in tears. I need to watch this show immediately.
Been looking for something new to watch, this scene has my interest piqued! One quibble: what’s up with the shadow on her nose, viewed from the low front? It seems wrong and I was distracted. Animation experts weigh in, please, I am not one.
"I lived and I died as all who have come before me. I did my duty, I carried us on. But I was also special, because of all of those like me, I was the one who was here to see you. And though you only watched, and though I lived much like others, I hope you will forgive me for stealing one last glance. Thank you for seeing me, and being there, all my life, even if just with your eyes. It is a comforting thought, as I lie down, and draw in my last moments. That through your eyes and in your memory, I will live a little longer yet, and see more places than I can imagine, even as my eyes close, and my story, such as it was, comes to its end. May one remember you, as you remember me..." - afanwithtoomuchtime4375
this dude's entire purpose and life is meaningless. The tendrils can move and clearly have some strength behind them. If this plant is so smart it can evolve a living tiny creature to do a couple things, why can't it evolve a single tendril that can do the exact same thing? The tendrils can also bury it, which means they could have cleaned the surface to reveal the opening as well. I get it's a fantasy series, and it's still touching and beautiful. But what an utterly, utterly pointless existence. The only thing missing was an exchange between the little creature and the plant. "What is my purpose?". "To pass the pollen" "Oh my god..."
maybe it's not about "why." we exist as sentient beings for who knows what reason. and yet, here we are. let's just enjoy the life, no matter what time we have left
Like Pepe Lore
What a masterpiece moment
Usually, when you see an alien organism open up like a flower, something horrible is about to happen. This breaks that mold a little bit
I was so captivated by this show that when this scene happened, I just started crying a lot. This scene broke my brain. This is unmitigated creativity.
Just Breathe bro
This is fucking fantastic!!
Absolutely one of the most gorgeous, thought provoking scenes ive ever seen in an anime. Puts life in to perspective a little bit.

Did anyone else cry when seeing this?

He knew her for his entire life.
What was the purpose of the scene??? It didn't add anything to the plot or to her character. Like every complicated and mystery show, they ruined it simplifying everything at the end with a monster fight 👎🏿
*[cries]* Such a beautiful scene!
Sleepy boy

That is so weird, I don't remember taking acid
I like to think it doesn't die but just reincarnates. It knows that once it's done, it'll just go back to sleep for the next cycle to begin

Cute lil alien 😍

Called scavenger reign. It’s on HBO and Netflix. HBO canceled it but Netflix picked it up recently
Well that was fucking sad.
This show was different.
О чём идёт речь?что это (за) раса?Откуда поступают изначальные энергии, какова цикличность?

good animation with a retarded story is bad animation.
I can’t stop watching. This is artistic perfection
I was fuckin SHOOK after this
Ive seen a lot of good shows, but its rare that a scene leaves me speechless. This show was a masterpiece.
It's like who made this magnificent piece of art can't be a human!!
What a Masterpiece, I'm still waiting for a trailer to a second season
Did the plant just technically fuck itself
Спасибо за фильм ❤

WE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND NOTHING WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🔥🗣️🔥🔥🗣️

My heart breakes when these things die 😭
What's the lyrics?
This week, on "Unnecessarily Elaborate Biology".
This is what mortal lives look like to a god.
"I lived and I died as all who have come before me. I did my duty, I carried us on. But I was also special, because of all of those like me, I was the one who was here to see you. And though you only watched, and though I lived much like others, I hope you will forgive me for stealing one last glance.
