NP590 Skylounge Stability Video
This video was a taken between Anacortes and Bellingham, WA. The NP590 was taking the waves quartering from the stern which is the sea condition that causes the most roll. Stabilizers were not used and you can see the boat performs very well.

Wow! What an experience in Glacier Bay Alaska. This video was taken from a North Pacific 44' Sedan. The owners took possession of this North Pacific Yacht in the Pacific Northwest and then shipped it home to the East Coast. It's a great idea for the trip of a lifetime!

The owners of a North Pacific 44' Sedan were at anchor in Alaska when a humpback whale started feeding next to them. These owners took possession in the Pacific Northwest and then shipped the boat to their home on the East Coast. We encourage all NP buyers to consider this option. It's a trip of a lifetime!

Beam Sea - North Pacific 45' Pilothouse

Winds were 20 knots in Bellingham Bay, WA, and this results in high frequency wind waves. This NP45, Ann Elyse, was loaded for cruising including a 500# dinghy on top. She is equipped with bilge keels.
No Chine Slap - North Pacific 49 and all Next Generation models

Many people don't like the sound of "chine slap" so we eliminated this in all our "Next Generation" models by raising the spray chine high enough so that it's not affected by chop at anchor.
North Pacific 49' Pilothouse - Beam Sea - Stabilized

The NP49 is inherently stable with its hard chine design and most 49s do not have stabilizers. This 49, however, had stabilizers which nearly eliminated the roll and made for more of an up and down motion even with this beam sea.

Very nice! Thank you for a video that is not taken at the dock during a boat show. The boat looks very capable and comfortable out in the rain and wind.
Your website is lacking information on any options such as stabilization. Love the yacht, but not enough info out there.

Can the boat come with extra fuel tank capacity?
Not bad, not bad at all. I've been out there in a 24 ft Bayliner with no stability except trim tabs and this looks so nice and comfortable.

Where is the tender and crane?
The NP59 comes with a standard full function UMT hydraulic davit on the flybridge. The owner of this vessel chose to have a Freedom Lift installed instead (under the swim platform).
Beautiful yacht. I want it. It's everything I would need to cruise Puget Sound and Vancouver BC.
Beautiful boat. Maybe underpowered?
Not for a trawler style cruising yacht. The Cummins engine fitted is a strong engine derated for continuous power. Engines are customer specified.
The NP59 will cruise at 11 knots with these engines and the top speed is 12.5 knots. We can install twin 715 QSM 11s if people would like more speed.
How fast do you want to go? Its not a sport cruiser. I would say it needs less power myself. A pair of QSC's would be plenty.
Displacement speeds
Very Nice - Needs a Fuel Polishing system, but that's all.

Nice walk through and nice to see someone showing you things like the bed going together and showing part of the engine room likes that a lot.

Just think about how young he'll look when he's 60 or 70! I wish I had those genes!
Like the bow seating and the access to the flying bridge. Dislike the low headroom engine room and no wing engine.
Thanks for the compliments Wade. We have a 49 in production now with a slightly raised salon floor. This will increase headroom in the engine room. And we are glad to discuss get-home options including a wing engine.

The stabilizers are passive fixed wing, called bilge keels.
It doesn't sound like your idea to turn off the stabilizers went over very well with the crew! Do you prep the boat for stabilizers incase the client wants to add them later?
Does this yacht come with stabilizers? Or is there enough room for a Seakeeper stabilizer?
Yes Jack, we have two 49s in production right now that will have a Seakeeper 9 installed.
